How playable is this with the current patch? I'm talking in terms of understanding the story, and being able to navigate the menu's.

Are you sure? The site says the patch is only about 72% complete. Well, I ordered it anyway, it should be here soon.

The patch is great. It is a LOT that isn't translated though, the ending, intro, journal, enemy information and of course dialogues throughout the game. To me, it looks like a little less than 72% actually.. But the most important things are translated. Except when you arrive at the Solomon's shrine. The game will then remain japanese until the end.

Nightwolve have a new update and it's a video... Ys2_op... something like that... i'm curious, who has seen this? Because I've tried by clicking and downloading but this thing is a virus... does anyone else have this problem? Like when I open this file... a small window popsup and says something like "ModF" and then click ok and another window with "Funk" popsup... click ok and then "done" shows up... and then it says "*a bunch of words*... needs restart" and when you restart... the antivirus catches it as a Trojan virus (but i can't remember which one...) And I also did a adaware and spybot scan... and they both catch spyware and it's 180solution... Did anyone else have this problem?

Nightwolve is the guy that's making an English patch for the Ys Eternal PC version.

When people say PC version...they're reffering to PC as in Personal Computer or PC Engine?

PC version of course. Do you know of a game called "Ys eternal / Complete" on PC-Engine?

PC version of course. Do you know of a game called "Ys eternal / Complete" on PC-Engine? Nope. The only ones that we have are the English ones, Ys Book I and II, and Ys Book III: Wanderers from Ys.

Nope. The only ones that we have are the English ones, Ys Book I and II, and Ys Book III: Wanderers from Ys. Nightwolve made English patches for Ys Eternal 1 and 2 for PC. I highly reccomend getting the games to any fans of Ys. Also I downloading the Ys 2 opening movie quite some time ago, I don't know why CrazyJo was having so much trouble with it. None of my scans detected anything, and it runs normally. Any way it's pretty cool. It gives the opening movie English subtitles, and also English voice acting, which is suprisingly good.

It gives the opening movie English subtitles, and also English voice acting, which is suprisingly good. Well, considering the voice acting was taken from the original Turbografx game, it's no surprise.

Well, considering the voice acting was taken from the original Turbografx game, it's no surprise. Well that explains it. I've never played the Turbografx versions, and when I heard there was voice acting in the opening movie, I was thinking it would be the quality of most flash movies. It fits this very pretty well though.

Btw, how good is the voice acting in Ys I & II for PC Engine? And what about the English translation? Is it good?
At least what I have heard, Ys III has a bad translation. Is it true? I've only played the Turbografx (english) version and can say that the over all voice acting is excellent. The best actors are Dark Fact, Dalles, and Lair. Havent' played the Japanese PC Engine version, though. The Turbografx Ys III was definitely a step down in voice acting. The actors all sound like amateurs. On top of that, most of the voices are sampled, not off the CD like Ys I & II. Too back, because the soundtrack is excellent.

If you have deleted all the folders, it will not take any more space. Also, Ys COMPLETE does not take 3 GB from your harddrive.
