I just completed Ys II - Ancient Ys Vanished The Final Chapter included in the Falcom Classics II compilation for the SEGA Saturn...
...but to my enormous frustration I can't seem to find one item. I have searched all over the net either for a list of all the items to be found... or a simple screenshots showing all of the items in the inventory screen, but without success...
As soon as I get the chance I can put up a screenshot showing the inventory screen and which item is missing, but for now all I can do is to explain in which spot in the inventory it should be located...
3rd from the left on the 2nd row from the top... between the Magic Mirror and the Death Bell... and I don't have the slightest clue as of what it could be? I've talked to all of the people... searched every corner I could think of (and not think of)... anyone got a clue what I am missing?
Any little help would be greatly appreciated!

...could it be the Cape of Holy Spirit? Is it included in the Saturn version of the game?

Oh yes it is in the game and I'm surprised you played through it WITHOUT that item. It's in the Ice Ridge of Noltia. You have to walk behind a wall under a staircase (or "into" the stairs) and there's no telling which one it is. Just walk into all the walls. I know for sure that you're supposed to walk in this direction -> There MIGHT be an enemy walking inside and out of it, I don't remember. Great game by the way.

Aaaah, nice... I'll fetch it a.s.a.p. then...
Well, I played through the game without even using the statues expanding my magic... or any rings or protective magic (well, yes, I did use the ring in the final battle, it would just have gotten way too frustrating otherwise)...
...thing is, I just didn't find it all that hard after having beaten Ys II Eternal on the hardest level a couple of times.

Ys II ETERNAL on Nightmare mode is difficult. Of course the Saturn (and other) versions are a lot easier. By the way, I ordered the game months ago. >=/ It didn't arrive yet. I can't find it on eBay either. Anyway, the Cape of Holy Light...in some versions, there's a shadow near the stair which has the entrance. If I'm not wrong, there's an enemy near that entrance under the stairs too. Also, opposed to what Seldane said ( ), I think you would have to walk to the other direction (<---) XD or at least that's how it was in the PCE version. ^^" Dunno if Saturn's version is different. o.o

Yep!
I've found the Cape now, and like you said Red Hairdo, you had to enter from the right under the specific stairs... no shadow revealing which stair, though... but if luck has it, it can be discovered by seing the enemy nearby strolling into the passage...
Well, that's it... I guess... nothing more to do with this version of Ys II. I will not bother about getting those last 18.000 experience points I need to reach 99.999... since all that will happen is that my energy will be refilled. Nearly 4500 enemies has to be killed to max out my experience points... not worth it, really.
