I'm currently trying to get a couple of problems ironed out before I get started on Ys I. Most are for Ys II, but I do have one problem with Ys I; as such, I figured it would be best if I just posted them all here.
The odd thing is, the problems I have in Ys II aren't in Ys I, and visa versa.
To get it quickly out of the way, Ys I won't utilize force feedback on my 360 controller; I know the controller isn't the reason, as it works in other applications as well as in Ys II. While it may not be important, I like rumble, and I don't like not having access to a feature that must work somehow.
Now for my Ys II problems.
1. I can't get a stable framerate. I've scoured Catalyst Control Center for a vsync option, but the only one it has (Wait for vertical refresh) does nothing.
2. There is no transparency in towns. I found out that it will activate in dungeons, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
3. Sound effects won't play frequently. I can hear the menu sound if I open/close it repeatedly, but that's about it. This is the only one I've managed to fix; by checking "Sound effects are buffered through software" it does work, but I'd rather not use that workaround if possible.
I have a feeling the last two have to do with the vsync issue, but I decided to put them down in case they weren't related.
