Wow, it does look just like the Ys IV! You should be able to jump this time though. They even kept the same portrait of Adol. Niena looks nice. Thanks! I have been checking every day and found nothing.

I sure hope they left the ability to use the shield in there. I always loved that.

Man that art really looks awesome, they really stayed true to the original designs for the characters. Dogi looks like he's ready to tear down some walls.

i think it looks good...although im one of the only people that acually likes mask of the sun: a new theory. The game is damn hard...and im sorry but Ys is too easy. I am VERY excited to play this. Thanks for the screens!

I enjoyed A New Theory so your not the only one. I just couldnt find a couple weapons and items after completing the game which pisses me off. I'm sure I will enjoy Ys V as well when its released. All the Ys games will be on the PS2 now, except Oath in Felghana.

I'm not saying Oath wont be ported but Konami is really lagging with Ark for the PSP. Hopefully they will do Oath and release it later this year or spring of 2007. I wanna play Oath with the PS2 controller, not the clunky PC keyboard.

Oath in Felghana will never be released on PS2. Neither will Ys IV The Dawn of Ys.

I wonder why people think PC games can't be played with joypad. A computer can handle many devices. You can even plug a ps2 gamepad with an usb adapter, or get some logitech joypad like the cheap dual action gamepad that's as good as a ps2 pad.

Oath in Felghana will never be released on PS2. Neither will Ys IV The Dawn of Ys. thats kinda too bad....but a good gamepad solves the controller problem...as for dawn of Ys....i couldnt care..its not that good.

A friend of mine has a Logitech controller that is trying to be like a PS2 controller .... and well, the only difference is that it sucks!!
PC controllers are always of very poor quality, no matter what the price is. Nothing beats a PS2 controller.

I hope you're not knocking Dawn of Ys....thats one of the best Ys games. As for a PC controller I bought mine for $10 and its perfect especially for Felghana.

I use an extra PS1 controller thru a USB device I bought, I play all my PC games, Turbo, SNES, Genesis, etc, on my comp nowadays to keep my systems from burning out on me. My Duo is already in sad condition, don't want that happening to my SuperGrafx or whatever. I know Dawn of Ys will never be on PS2, & that's just fine by me, because it'd probably be Taito that would make it, so, it truly would end up being worse. Mask of the Sun, was up & down for me, since, it didn't play as badly as the SNES game(the least Tonkin could've done was given us 8way, rather then 4), but man, some of the levels were a complete mess in the PS2 version. And that's not to say I didn't enjoy it at times, I enjoyed both MOTS's at times, but both, in there own ways were frusterating(the "districts" in the SNES version come to mind). I also know, that DOY will never be remade for the PC either......unless Falcom really suprises me. Even though there are story elements of MOTS I don't like, especially in comparison to DOY, I think a PC remake by Falcom themselves, of MOTS, will absolutly rock, maybe I'm wrong? As for Felghana for PS2, or even PSP, I'm in the neutral zone, I won't say it will, or won't. I have some hopes, cuz it's one kick arse game, but I have doubts, since they really didn't do that great a job of promoting Ark, so I don't think it did well enough, to warrant a PS2 release of Felghana. I think the PSP version, might make the difference, depending on how they handle it. With limited release, & no marketing, or a wide release, with good marketing. If anything, I think there's a better chance of atleast them making Felghana for PSP, once again, depending on how well Ark does. I guess I should pre-order Ark, just incase it becomes rare, even though I don't have a PSP, I know I want it, & I want to support any Ys game that comes out anywhere in the world.

Well, there is still hope that Ark for PSP does better than the PS2 version. I believe Konami is truly interested in porting Oath. It took nearly 2 years for Ark to come out for PS2 after its PC brethren so maybe 2007 would be a more reasonable time to see Oath arise as a port. I mainly want to see an English translation done for it so I can understand the dialogue. The playstation controller is THE best controller ever made in the history of videogaming in my opinion. I also have a USB adaptor so my PC can use the PS controller. I use the controller mainly for emulation cause I'm not a PC gamer at heart. Not sure if any of the PC Falcom games can be compatible with the PS2 controller as I have not tested. Not knowing japanese hinders me from wanting to fiddle with the japanese menus. Anyhow, to get back on topic; this is the Ys V for PS2 thread so wooooohoooooo for Ys V for PS2!!!!!!!!
