What about the 2 LOX's. Those we're specifically made by Falcom for the PC Engine, & then published by NEC. I was always told they we're the only games Falcom specifically made themselves for a console, but was Ys 5 developed by Falcom, or did the publisher do it?

You haven't heard the news obviously - Konami DID return the original music for the PS2 release. They canned the new music (well, sort of).

Did anyone see gamespots review? They gave it 7.5 (good) GOOD they suck, the games GREAT. They give the graphics an 8, sound a 7 and say “Ys: The Ark of Napishtim isn't perhaps the sharpest-looking hack-and-slash adventure with the most refined game play, but it still provides a solid and satisfying experience. Fans of the series and button-stomping pros looking to carve up legions of foes in the company of a large cast of personable characters will be right at home with the latest iteration of Ys.†I hop people who have not seen Ys before try it out and do not believe the reviews. The only problem the game has is the special long jump slash. Gamespot says that Konami will release a PC version after the PS2 is out but I do not see it on Konami’s site release date schedules. As for the FMV cut seams they replaced the anime with 3Dcg, oh well looks like the only hand drawn art will be the character’s profile and certain backgrounds.

It's a mistake! It has to be. YsVI will never be released for PC (again). It would be a huge mistake to release it for PC.

Seldane why would it be a mistake? There are things you can do on a PC that you can’t do on a system (like taking advantage of a high res computer monitor). Besides I would be more incline to by a PC version if I see it in stores (for a fair prise, $25) than getting a PS2 just for that game.

First of I just want to make clear that I am not a dedicated fan boy. I will not go out of my way to get a game or play every version of it. I like Ys because it is a light Action RPG and there aren’t that many of them. Most US & E RPG’s are hardcore, I don’t like that.

There's an anime intro, but it plays after Olha and Isha find Adol on the shore. There is no prologue which actually details how Adol wound up there. The prologue is detailed with some (very nice) color artwork in the manual. ho yeah, thats right !! (always wondered how he came here ^^) On a side note, just won an ebay auction for magic knight rayearth for the sega saturn, a nice "Ysish" little action RPG,that i once finished several times in japanese... I'll be able to understand the full story now - happy -

Well, let's hope lots of newcomers check the game out and like it enough to buy it. When I picked the game up at EBgames tonight the employees were very curious about it. I told them how fun and "old school" it was and they should at least rent it.

Oh, I'm sorry. I meant the page made a mistake - the game's not coming out for PC.
By the way, that screenshot of Adol looks great!

The original (limited edition) PC release opens the game right with Adol on the shore. No prologue at all. OK, now I'm confused . Are you saying that the regular (non-LE) PC version contained a new Intro? If so, is this a movie intro (avi file), or executable like the original Ys Eternal PC intro? Anyone know where I can download a copy? (I'm a cinema nut ).
