Actually, I'd say that Parish managed to give a far more fair review than I would have expected of him, to be honest. To be fair, there really isn't anything new and exciting about Ys VI. The Ys gameplay formula, after all, has always been more about good clean fun than experimental bullnuts. As usual, Parish couldn't help presenting a jab at classic Ys gameplay, while it becomes increasingly obvious that he never bothered to properly learn how the system worked, since we all know that it was not random at all! Dear Parish: if you somehow find yourself reading this response, you ought to get yourself a copy of Ys Eternal, and take a real close look at this picture: As you can see, there is a definate system to it. One that is actually incredibly deep and intuitive despite its apparent simplicity.
