It's quite easy to find the Japanese sales, naturaly (...and oddly), but the US sales are nowhere to be found, as far as ice searched... has anyone got info on the Units sold? or an estimate? even a clue as to how it did...? (i think many of you can guess why im asking )

Yes, you can find US Ys6 sales date on Gaming age forums but I would not even think go there until month after E3. Its not even loading this morning, it getting to many hits. Basicly it did: 8k Feb 15k in March
Extremely poor, I believe Konami said with staff and changes they need/expected 250k min. We can safely said sadly they will not touch another Ys.

Those sales sure stink if they are accurate. Damn, I was hoping for Oath of Felghana to get ported too. Well, I still have hope.

I think the price was the problem.
They were selling it anywhere from $50 - $70 and the average store had it for $60

Ouch that is how much it costs in Europe? Here it launched at 39.99 on day one. But of coarse it not photorealistic, violent, bleak and gory like most western games with ton of CGI so it got overlooked. Annoying how much gaming has changed.

No, it's Canada.
Ebgames had it for originally $69.99 while Futureshop/Best Buy Canada had it for $59.99 (still does!!). And all of a sudden while at a mall, the ebgames i went into had it for only $49.99

If the sales figures keep dropping drastically then you will see Ys Ark of Napishtim in the bargain bins very soon.

That would be a shame, but if (when) it does, I will pick up the US version as well. (Two - one to use, and one to keep sealed.... forever!)

Were your prices in Canadian dollars? Cause $50 CAD = $39 USD just about. Anyway, aight, I had forgotten all about Canada. Yea, the $49.99 was a good price but when they were selling it for $69.99... I was running out of the store...

is it seriously not doing well? I was getting the feeling it was doing better than one would expect after seeing it in top lists here in canada (but that was for microplay, so I guess my answer lies in that... ) BUT, you guys are forgetting that the PSP version will hopefully add to those sales, as well as the European release of the PS2 one. Well, ive got news about Falcom (dont know if I should start a new thread, ill just post it here) someone at IGN just got back from E3 and posted about some Ys news he learned about the PSP version as well as status on wither future releases will be coming here or not. boards.ign.com/Ys/b6864/87912874/?1*crosses fingers/prays* EDIT: got mine for 59.99 Canadian.. a week after the PS2 launch. I couldnt wait and that was the cheapest price I had seen out of 4 stores (got it from Future Shop... same thing as Best Buy) I agree that the price may not have been agreeable with many people... that is definately a factor to low sales.

Just a little heads-up: YsVI is 2nd on the top preordered PS2 RPGs list in Sweden. It's #6 on the top preorder PSP game list (also in Sweden). Looks promising.

How can these figures be poor, if it was difficult to get the game in the first place. My friend works at an EB, and he told me they only got in two copies of the game. It as also launched during Gran Turismo 4. There was no way this was going to sell 250k.

Konami tripped over it's own feet in my opinion, adding all those cutscenes and re-doing the art when it was all completely unnecessary. Port, translate, sell. That's all they had to do.
And don't give me this junk about 'a 2d game would never make it to PS2', because Shining Tears was released not a month after Napishtim, with ten times the hype, and a hundred times the failure.

Wait a minute... 15,000 units or $15000? Something doesn't seem right. If it's $15000, then that would mean they only sold 375 copies nation wide. If it's 15,000 units, then I have no idea why they were expecting 250 thousand to be sold for this game. Also, shouldn't the amount the Japanese PS2 version grossed count for something (since it's the same port just Japanese text and voices)?
