I agree... if I get a PSP, I'll get the game... but call me stupid or something, it doesn't look any different then the PS2 version. It looks like the PC preview... it doesn't show anything that we haven't seen yet. Yes, I know, it's the same game but you know, I was hoping to see some of the "extra" stuff that weren't in the PS2 that will be in the PSP.

It also looks like Ys6 for PSP may to quite well (most likely WAY better then the PS2 version). psp.ign.com/articles/619/619558p1.html"PSP Best of E3 2005" Ys6 is listed as a runner up for Best Action Game... am I being too optimistic?

it deserves that title. i couldnt really see the trailer that well, but it does seem like the preview for the PC version. but if i ever get PSP, i'd get YSVI first. though buying psp for $400(?) for one game seems...ouch. D:

^^^ same for me... and yeah, it DOES seem that this version could sell more. Ive heard that there are many PSP owners dieing for a good RPG of any kind... and this will be one of the first.. looks like Ys VI has perfect timing. Many PSP owners over at the IGN boards are waiting for this one, from what i see. what sucks about this is that im probably never getting a PSP (ive read that PSP and PS3 are the first consoles/handhelds that are unlikely to have periodic price drops like previous handheld and consoles did) so If this does do well, that probably means more Ys for Sony and PSP, and less chance of a Nintendo one (my GBA is still waiting... a DS one might be interesting too)

Be patient, my friend.... in due time the PSP will be cheaper.... in due time...
I think the PSP and DS are nice handhelds but I really, REALLY think that handheld consoles should stick to the classic 2D and/or RPG games. I tried a bit of Metero for DS but any FPS should be played on a PC - unless you got some virtual headgear.

Ys VI is the #1 reason I bought a PSP. I'm currently working at GameStop, and when we first started getting the release dates for the games, I noticed Ys was on it. Originally, back in March, it was slated for a June release. Needless to say, I decided I'd pick up a PSP at launch, try a few things out, and snag Ys for my birthday, which also happens to be in June. Unfortunately, our computers are now saying it won't be released stateside until November. I still plan on importing it when it shows up in Japan on June 30th, but it was still disappointing to see it pushed back. Either way, the trailer makes me want to play the game all over again, portable style.

^^^ lol, sorry jo... dont think there are any gamestops around here... personaly, i'd only say yes to a... 50% discount, for the PSP btw, this is why i wouldnt think too much about a price drop (2nd paragraph)... ps3.ign.com/articles/618/618540p1.htmlTo anyone that wants to get Ys VI on PSP but doesnt have a PSP yet, i'd say to wait untill Ys VI is actualy out, then you may be able to get the new colours. but not even Ys (actualy, any game that ive heard of) can make me buy a console/handheld for one game, especialy with a price tag like PSP's... >_>

Prices will drop eventually, it's unavoidable! It's like if a PC 386 was still going for a couple grand today, that'd be ridiculous. Things always drop over time. I'm probably not going to get a PSP for awhile, since it's just too expensive for a portable, for my blood. Even on the PS1 & PS2, I waited until they we're down to $200 or less, I've never paid more for a system.....well, except in the case of my Super Grafx with the CDROM attatchment, but, that's a collector's item. I will however buy PSP Ys 6 when it drops in price, or maybe used, so I can atleast have it. I already have the PS2 & PC versions, so, the PSP version isn't a big deal for me to HAVE to play immediatly, ya know, so patience young padawan.

personaly, i'd only get one if it were less than $200 canadian dollars, which is even lower than the price of a nintendo DS. this is because i'd only buy one game for it, and i'd have no use for the other features (i find the UMD movies useless and I already have a good Mp3 player). So yeah, unless it goes the way of the virtua boy, i'm not getting one.. lol. thats something I dont see happening, as even though DS is doing better... the PSP is still holding it's place, so far. I heard that the PSP is pretty expensive to create, and that sony is already not in the profit end with the price that PSP has... but yeah, i guess that will change as technology changes. Im not thinking too much of it anyways. Beleive me, patience is an over statement... still, once there is a price drop (if ever) then I still suggest reading a review of Ys VI on PSP or trying it beforehand, because I heard that the converstion to the handheld is pretty messy, so far. but they have a lot of time to fix it, so im betting it will be the best PSP game this year, especialy if the new extras are worth it (does anyone have info on what those might be?)

right now the PSP is selling for $299 (without tax - so, with the tax it will come to about $345CAD). I don't believe what I read about how the price wont come down. Zeomare is right, it's ridiculous to think that the PSP will stay at this high price. I'd say give it about 2 years or so and you will definitely see it for $199 with some bundle package. That's what I did for ps2 Got mine at $300 with 2 controller, memory card and a game. You may want to try entering contests for it BTW, do you think they will add extra stuff to PSP? Since the PSP is wifi ready, I would think there may be some internet feature in the future with a stylus... or am I just dreaming?

I'd buy one just for 1 game. I've done it before already with prior systems O.o
I'm silly that way. But then, the majority of my funds go to gaming anyways.

Is it retailing for $299 in Canada? I know at Gamestop they go for $249.99 right now, and that gets you the 32 meg memory stick, headphones, battery, charger, and carrying sleeve. I'm not sure about everyone's local state sales tax, but in Oklahoma that would come out to be exactly $270.93.

^^^Ive never seen one, or heard of one here, either... "I'm silly that way. But then, the majority of my funds go to gaming anyways." lol, the majority of my fund go to gaming as well but its tough thinking of ever buying a PSP (which has nothing that interests me, other than Ys), especialy for just one game (which ive already got on PS2, more or less) when ive currently got a list of around 10 DS games I want, Mega Man Zero 4 on GBA, as well as a few GC games (MMXC, Zelda, Kirby) and a few PS2 games... the list is already a bit over my budget for the end of this year. Hopefully I'll be getting lucky with my birthday/christmas presents since most of these come out around then Im waiting to see if theres any sign of OiF coming out stateside in english, i'd rather try importing that if i have to (ive never imported, especialy for a PC game.. dont have any of those) instead of getting a PSP for Ys VI and I wouldnt be calling such ideas as no PSP price drops far fetched... sort of. Maybe it'll just be that price drops will take longer to occur, or that there wont be many of them in PSP's life time, or that it wont go down too far. It's different this time around, it seems (from what I've been reading), PS3 and PSP are not the same case as PS2 and PS1... but i guess you guys are right too. Seeing how so many consumer demand it... it'll happen someday, it has to...

gamestop? isn't that an american store? i dont think there's a canadian outlet... Yes, Gamestop is an American store as of right now. About a month and a half ago, Gamestop and EBGames underwent an agreement for a merger. The two companies are already undergoing a merger process behind the scenes as we speak. They said that there won't be any visible changes probably until around 2006. So, eventually, all EB's will be some form of Gamestop/EB merged chain of stores.

Which makes me sad, as the Gamestops in the last two cities I've lived in have completely sucked. EB was my only local hope for a true gamers store.
I have no hopes for it to remain that way now.
