Shouldn't you know that with your awesome admin skills? It was me. I posted something here and then decided to delete it. It was about this ranking thingy. Nothing special. I could, but I didn't. He he. This modem sure limits me to a lot of things, I would check it if it hadn't taken so long. Broadband soon, aaah.

Me too, me and my brother just bought a completely new PC, and I am tired of slowdowns.

Why are you even going to attempt to do this? It's a useless waste of time and those Japanese guys are crazy. Trying to beat them is madness.
Also, is this contest still on?

Hi there.
I'm the guy who wrote that FAQ. Glad to see I have some readers out there. I got 32000 hits on it last year, but you're the first person I've actually run into who's used it. ^_^;
Stumbled upon these boards by accident today, and I figured I'd sign up at the very least to explain the magic glitch for you. It's very simple.
You noticed that the magic gauges reset between fights, I assume... but that's not always the case. If you fill up a magic gauge in a fight but don't use it, that full charge will be there for you at the beginning of subsequent fights. You can see where this would be easily abused - the classic example is on both the Piana bosses, by having Ericcil fully charged going in. A magic use with a couple of crits, and bam, they're dead within 4 seconds. There are other applications as well, but that's the most famous.
I know it's been a while since the topic was bumped, but I assume the interested parties will see it at some point.

Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but I have a reason. xD Well, about that Ys VI bug on Time Attack, I wonder: does it only work for the PS2 version of the game? Also... could it really be called a bug? It seems like something "normal" to me. Like, just a strategy. Well, I'll be definitelly digging up all of this sometime. And also read your Ys VI FAQ, falcon815, which seems to be quite good!

Then I'll test it on the PSP version later today. Thanks for the heads-up, MP83. (So, if doesn't work in the Windows version, but works in the PS2 versaion, then it probably is indeed a bug instead of a feature. We can know for sure after seeing PSP's case.)

I just tested it and it doesn't work with the Windows version of the game. Don't know about the PSP version. I tested it yesterday and it's the same as the PC version: the bug didn't work. But! The thing is, I also tested it in the PS2 version. It didn't work there too. I'm sure I maximized all the three swords' MP gauges before finishing off one of the bosses and when the next battle started, they all were depleted. In both of the versions I tested. Therefore, there are only 3 possibilities: - There's some trick to it: it isn't just filling up the gauge and not use the magic even once until the battle ends. There must be something else; - It may be a bug that varies between versions (North America, Europe, Japan); - I really, REALLY DOUBT it's the case, but there's a chance that bug doesn't even exist... I don't think falcon815 made it up, it's most likely that it is we that don't know how to pull off the bug, but I won't deny the so unlikely, yet still possible possibility (>_>). I'll try doing it again in the PS2 version a few more times, I bet there's some trick to it. Anyway, I just came back here to report. xD
