psp.ign.com/articles/692/692516p1.htmlso, its out now. I dont have a PSP, so I was wondering if anyone here has got it yet... Im interested to know how much a port this is. Anything new? IGN states that theres new music and cutscenes, but they're probably just confused with the Japanese PC cutscenes and the new soundtest option. im not so much of a fan of anything to want multiple copies of the same game, so even now the PSP doesnt appeal to me. Just like with Irregular Hunter X, im just gonna find out what exactly im missing out on with this version, if anything.

canadian ebgames retailers always get the game 1 or 2 days after the release date on their site (since those are US dates) buy i suspect that in america and possibly some canadian retailers, the game was stocked today

amazon tells me March 15thlik-sang (where I pre-orderd it) tell me Q1 2006, and they haven't sent me an email yet that it is in stock. so ign could be off with a few day on the release date.

no guys, its out in north america now. my local eb said that they'd get shipments in this afternoon (its around 1 pm here right now). like i had said, they stock their games a day or 2 after the release date. and lik sang is an online retailer in asia i know they do international games, but i'd think a north american retailer would be more accurate when it comes to NA releases. check again: www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/257703.aspit no longer shows the release date and says "ships within 24 hours", which means they've started sending copies out to their online customers. anyways, it doesnt matter (unless, someone here is anxious to pick up their copy asap). im just waiting for someone to share some info on it once they get their copy.

ebgames never gets it on the first day atleast not in canada... from preordering games atleast once a month, ive concluded that atleast in mississauga, 95% of the time you've got to wait 1 to 3 days (usualy one) after the game's official NA release date... even the last game i got, monkey ball for the DS, came out a day later. according to justinzero... it seems the western provinces need to wait around a week afterwards... southern ontario doesnt seem as unfortunate to me anymore lol, are we all from canada here? is there anyone here thats in north america and is from the american part of it?

Yeah its really wierd...its ether a day or two weeks. Sometimes shipments dont even come for small stuff like Ys...we end up waiting a good 2 weeks for some rare stuff.
everyone here is from europe except a few americans...it looks like its me you and, CrazyJo.

seldane.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=generaldiscussion&action=display&thread=1116782110taking a trip back to that thread... it seems the 4 other canadians ran away.... and ive actualy so far had one experiance where i lost out on a good game due to unpopularity (you know, one of those "small" games, like Ys)... I had preordered King of Fighters EX for the GBA and for one month after the release date i asked them if the shipment had come in, and eventually they just told me it was cancelled... fast farward to summer 2005 and theres about 2 used copies of the game per store. KOFEX2 never even made it into preorders though, i dont think that game even exists in canada

There are quite a few Europeans here, but I believe the majority of the (active) members are from the states. Check out this thread for more info on that. Edit: Oops, Inochi had already linked to that thread.

Just so everyone knows, I bought it yesterday at Toys R Us.
However, I don't have a PSP, so, I can't tell you a thing about it, I just bought it to have it, & hopefully someday, the PSP will drop in price......possibly now that Microsoft has a portable of their own coming into the market, it might scare Sony a little into dropping the price......I hope!

I think the PSP has already dropped in price... It's $289.99 CAD at FutureShop/BestBuy... But I don't have money and even if I do, it's not a priority to get the PSP. Even though, the little devil on my shoulder screams "buuuy iiitt!!!!"

Even though, the little devil on my shoulder screams "buuuy iiitt!!!!" No... thats probably just in certain stores (and that too, for a while only... probably). I mean, you cant look at walmart and say that every game has dropped in price by a dollar or two and trust me on two things... it'll be a very LONG time before the psp gets a price drop (id say... close to the end of it's life) due to it's hardware it how much it costs to make it. the other thing, origami (ms's handheld) wont be released for a very long time.. and have u seen the thing? that thing is gonna be expensive... i smell a flop

I only read just a little bit over at magicbox about it, so I don't know the details. But I do know, that the DS is killing the PSP. So far, I already have Legend of Heroes 4 & Ys 6(just incase they become rare later on). But, I know I want Daxter, cuz I love that series, & I also want Maverick Hunter X & Powered Up, & Crisis Core all without a doubt! Ofcoarse, if they get released here, I have LOH 3 & 5. There are other games I want as well, but those are the ones that really come to mind.
Anyways, are you thinking it's pretty much the new Turbo Express, where it takes years for it to drop in price, because of the technology? Usually technology goes down in price as new tech is created, everything gets cheaper. I'm not counting on the PSP dropping soon, but, I would like it to. Hell, if they could make a bare bones PSP, where it just plays the games, & that's it, if that would knock down the price significantly, then I'd buy that in a heartbeat, since that's all I'm interested in. Just games, I don't even care about the internet stuff on there......though, being able to play roms on it is pretty cool, & I'm sure it's leaps & bounds beyond the GP32 in that respect.

Actually, ive read somewhere that the PSP and (when it comes out) the PS3 are the kind of technologies where the idea of "cost vs time" has a low effect. Analysts say not to expect price drops for either of those platforms (which is unfortunate for those who want a PS3 and arent rich), nor Xbox 360. Who knows, maybe Sony will one day might have to take that step with the PSP's price, but i doubt they would realy want to. Actually, if the DS is winning, its because of Japanese sales. The PSP has caught up quite well (but not yet beat DS's sales, which i beleive will always stay atleast one step ahead) in the US and Europe dispite DS's early launch. Actually, i think in the case of the US and Europe, the software is whats doing much better on DS's side. Nintendogs (and i think, Mario Kart) have sold better than GTA (PSP's best seller so far). If anything sells on the PSP in US/Europe its the UMDs (which i find extreamly silly), Sports titles, and GTA. Most hardcore gamers i talk to use their PSPs for Emulation, mostly. I personally have to say that Lumines is seriously the only game i'd get on the PSP. After playing F-zero GX so much, wipeout is horribly tame for me. Everything else is a port thats already available on other platforms. I'd prefer Rockman X over Irregular Hunter X anyways and ive read Rockman Rockman (MM Powered Up) didnt come out so well. DS just has it all anyways, i mean its got new exciting stuff for new gamers (nintendogs) as well as new exciting stuff for vertrens (castlevania is a prime example of that). Lets just cross our fingers that an action-adventure Ys eventually gets made for it too. unfortunately it'd probably be a port though. I dont see falcom making the next true Ys on anything other than the PC. I dont think they'd overdo it on the remakes either, so i dont see them making a remake for the DS either. Maybe they could port Ys Falghana to it? its a possibility... (hell... they could have done it with YsVI! i dont get what's up with some japanese developer's and the PSP... they're japanese! the PSP is getting murdered over there)

I remember the PSP was originally around the $400...
I dont buy from wal-mart... they dont even have a good selection to begin with... and it's not even a $1 difference from other store... it's like $0.50 diff...
I'll wait on PSP...
