Hey, Wyrdwad, the game's only been translated for the PS2 and PSP and it's old. Anyway, most people who have one of these systems will prefer it over the PC version for the commodity. I don't think you translating it will really hurt their sales. However, ripping off Konami's translation could raise copyright problems.

It cannot hurt their sales, as they aren't for sale anymore. They've gone out of production a long time ago. In fact, they only had one production run (no re-releases), and it was very limited. It's super hard to find the European versions of Ys VI for either format nowadays. Well, not on sites like Ebay, but in real stores as well as online retailers.
This applies to the PSP version in particular, which was virtually non-existant even back when it came out! Which nobody knows when it happened, because it didn't really have a "release date". I have never seen the PSP version anywhere, not even in online stores or Ebay!!

Especially regarding the European ones? I was only talking about them.

Well, I guess it must be about the same for the US releases.

Well, I guess it must be about the same for the US releases. No, not really! xD You know, I saw an original copy in perfect state of the PSP version in a store about an year ago in Sta. Efigênia (for those who don't know, a famous street for wares in São Paulo). Note: All english releases we get here come from the US. =/ That's why i. e. we won't find Ys Strategy for Ds here, as it only was released in Japan and Europe (Ys Strategy was just an example! xD).

I'm not sure if they're still in stock now or something, but I saw the European PSP versions on sale almost everywhere when I popped by Jordan early this year? Saw one in the Syrian and Abu Dhabi duty free shops too... (I found that very surprising actually! I had no clue Ys was so popular over there!) Would that make it not out of stock? Atleast in the Middle East?

What would make it not out of stock? Simple. Nobody wants to buy it.

XD Were there a lot of copies of other games too? ^.^

That would explain why the European version of Ys VI PSP is so hard to find. They're all in Jordan. And nobody wants to buy them.
So the store shelves there feed on them at night. With mirrors in their ears.

Now you have to do an online petition against Jordan duty free shops to stop stocking up so much on Ys games! >:O Oh, and also blame them for Blizzard adding too much colour in Diablo III.

But there's not enough color in Diablo 3.

What about the Canadian ones? :P There are no such things as Canadian releases! Well, okay, so some of the games have French manuals and/or the French insert with the cover and back cover but as far as I know, all the damn discs come from the US anyway. I believe our release dates may be a bit later on some games but that's probably because of the need for French stuff and cuz of the transit time to ship the stuff up here. I dunno. I'm just guessing here. :B

No, there definitely are Canadian releases. Even I have some. But I was just making a point. It bugs me when people say "USA" instead of North America, when they actually mean the entire continent. It is arrogant. I'm surprised that you, as a Canadian, don't get bugged by this behaviour. The games get released in the entire North American region, not just in USA. Edit: I searched around and found another Canadian who feels the same about it (I've encountered other Canadians, having similiar feelings, as well). He mentioned that USA often uses the word "America" when they in fact mean only USA. America is not USA, USA is only a part of it. Also, I've been watching the tv show "How I met your mother" recently, and they make fun of Canada in almost every episode (not with tongue in cheek either, just plain mockery). Even I get offended, and I have no relations to Canada whatsoever!

He mentioned that USA often uses the word "America" when they in fact mean only USA. America is not USA, USA is only a part of it. Haha Well, I guess that applies to all the American countries. =( I don't know when and how exactly the USA was started being called "America", but unfortunately that's also how people from other countries referred to them. For example, about an year ago I was reading a German article in my German class (we were working on one). The person who wrote it said "America" multiple times, but it was referring to the USA. Same goes in Japan: often I hear in animes something like "he went to America", but they specifically meant "USA". =/ I personally think the USA government is at fault for this, at some point. Well, I dunno. When referring to people born in the US, I and other people say "united statians", something of that nature (it sounds very awkward in english though). You know, I and many other people are American too! =s Note: America is the continent. South America/ North America/ etc. are not continents, but a way to divide it, like "western Europe".

I dunno, Red, but school pounded it into our heads that North and South America ARE separate continents. There are 7 in total, no? Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. D: Oh bloody hell. I just Googled and it looks like there can be 5 - 7 continents depending on how people count them. Can't we just have a definite number? >_> As for Americans using "America" or "US" when referring to North American releases, I can't explain why it doesn't bother me. I mean, I know they mean NA. I guess I've become immune to it (or my brain just immediately switches it to NA or North America)? :O

But you still could ask Deuce for the translation, maybe. And man, the PC version is much better than the PS2! I really hope I'll get to play it in english someday!

You know, back on the subject of the Americas, I just realized that I NEVER refer to the United States as just America. I always say/write either "the States" or "the US".
wyrdwad: But they're not playing the PC version!!! :(!!! And were there any glaring errors in the English PS2/PSP version? If there were, you can fix them! :D

Supposedly each circle represents a continent. Though... Antarctica... I have heard that one can consider it a continent as well as not I think. I'm not sure about it, it was long ago... I miss Pangea. XD Good times. On topic note: am I the only one who likes the PS2 version over the PC one? Still, the PC version pretty neat. At least I heard it has the best graphics from the 3.

Even I get offended, and I have no relations to Canada whatsoever! When you live over here, and 75% of your TV shows are American, 90% of the movies are American, and there are only a handful of respectable Canadian game studios, you get very used to American point of view, and culture. I do feel the same, but its like trying to beat a dead horse man. Believe it or not, there are some Canadians that think N.A is only meant for us. I guess we don't notice it because we are so close, so I would think its on the same level as say France speaking as if they were Europe, and not a part of a greater picture? Canada is not old enough imo, and neither is USA to truly be proud enough, historically, or culturally, to see things like that as insulting. The differences between our two countries is very slim. We do get Canadian releases, but as previously mentioned its just to add extra time to accommodate packaging differences, due to French text, and French manuals. We get mostly everything (except a few like Castle Shikigami III), and big releases are put out on the same day for the entire NTSC market.
