Hi, I found this utility that converts Napishtim 1.0.0 to 1.2.0.2 adding in the difficulty modes and time attack to the limited ed version. I was wondering if anyone was interested in this.

Here it is:
hXXp://rapidshare.com/files/64283136/YS6LtoSPatch.rar Just Unrar it, run it, and thats it. I'm not sure if it can patch anything newer than the original install like 1.0.9, but it works on 1.0.0

WOW, thanks so much for posting this. I just tried this on my 1.1.0.9 version and it worked! This is great because I bought the limited edition and really wanted to try the boss rush mode (I do also have the ps2 version, but the pc is so much better) but I didn't want to have to buy the game again. I'm surprised that Falcom wouldn't just release this patch themselves.

I'm surprised that Falcom wouldn't just release this patch themselves. Are you? Really? They wanted more money without making an effort. So they sold the same game twice. Remember Ys V Expert? Remember the Ys Origin bonus disc that you had to BUY? Falcom is a bunch of cheap bastards.

They should have included it in the first place or provided it for free download, of course. And they didn't send it by EMS at all, but I paid a than what it said on the envelope.

Is this a general difference between the east and west in terms of pc game patch support? With this Ys 6 patch it is only 16 MB, and even the Ys Origin EX disc was only 100 MB. I would think it would be easy for Falcom to host these and then avoid shipping issues altogether. You regularly see US and European companies release patches for download at this size or (much) larger. You also see Western game makers release patches that add modes and aren't just bug fixes all the time. Apparently Falcom only hosts bugfix patches? With Ys 6 I suppose they could hope for people to buy it again, but I think asking people to rebuy games for such small changes (especially people that bought the original limited editions) only encourages them to seach for these games in less "reputable" ways. I love Falcom's games but I do wish they would handle these updates in a better way, and that doesn't seem like too much to ask... especially if they knew they shipped the game without all the options they planned to include.

Bah, whatever with all that chit-chat. xD Problem is solved now, right? Whoever bought the old version of the game can now upgrade it.

I'm not sure if Falcom is just sinister or that they just got sloppy during production and couldn't include everything they wanted to before shipping out the game to store shelves. Or maybe it's a combination. I'm glad I don't really care about any modes above Normal or Time Attack. XD With Origin, I just went for the disc for the heck of things. I mean, it was essentially free. But yeah, why not a download service for add-ons, Falcom?
