I just noticed something that may help you ParanoiaDragon. I noticed on my last few orders, all I indicated is my shipping address, which is different than my billing address. I never gave them a billing address. The charges just appeared on my credit card. I don't think they even use the billing address.

Hmm, well, I know when they first emailed me, they didn't ask for a billing address, just a shipping. But, I gave them my billing address, & then ofcoarse, later my shipping I'll just have to wait n' see, but that might be a good sign that it'll all work out for me

Damn Falcom, they've already charged my account! Two months before the release!

Damn Falcom, they've already charged my account! Two months before the release! Are you sure that isn't just a temporary charge to make sure the credit card is valid? I had an $80 pending charge, but now it is gone. So either it will show up on my card tomorrow, or it was just a test charge.

And I'm going to try to get Xanadu Next fan-translated, if somebody's willing to help me with the technical aspects of it... If there is anything I can do to help with this, don't hesitate to ask! As for Ys Origin, I'm gonna preorder it pretty soon - it's a part of the storyline I'm very interested in, and even though I won't be able to understand most of what's going on, I'm sure I'll be able to guess from the images ^_^ As for the extras that come with preordered items, do you only get extras if you order from Falcom directly?

I won't be able to understand most of what's going on, I'm sure I'll be able to guess from the images Or just wait for the eventual English patch... Is that a promise? I'm planning on waiting for that, or at least for a good English walkthrough that also summarizes the plot.

I've already asked a Japanese friend of mine at work if he would be willing to telephone Falcom sales on my behalf and he's agreed.
We'll call as it gets closer to release.
Anything of use I find out I'll let you all know.

Hello, what is this email address for ordering Ys Origin?

I am really curious as to what percentage of pre-orders are from foreigners. I am still surprised that Falcom even allows foreign orders, since many companies do not. They probably decided it is better to get the money directly than indirectly through import shops.

Because Falcom cares. If Falcom really, really, reallly cared they would have English versions of the game

Because Falcom cares. They don't care. They want money, and by selling the game (be it domestically or internationally) they make money. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually overcharged us for shipping, just to gain a little extra.

I've done enough ordering from various import sites to know that Falcom doesn't screw you on shipping. I really don't mind paying for it. It is really cool to get things in the mail the day they come out in Japan

The good thing is even though EMS is expensive, it is reliable. I'm glad Falcom only ships EMS. I can't count the things I have received via EMS over the years. It hasn't failed once. Especially with Falcom, I don't mind paying one bit either.

I never use EMS, and I've never had any problems whatsoever. In fact, the few times I HAVE been using EMS, I've had some problems (had to pay customs fees, etc).
Standard uninsured airmail is underrated. They don't play football with your packages, I promise!

I sent home two large 10lb packages from South Korea using ground shipping. When the boxes arrived, they were a bit beat up, but everything arrived safely. It just makes me paranoid that I couldn't track the packages, and it takes 2 months for them to get from Korea to the USA. I recoil in horror thinking about ordering something and having to wait 2 months for it to arrive. I believe CDJapan offers ground shipping, which is surprising. If you can afford to buy Japanese CDs, I think you can afford shipping

I have every intention of pre-ordering this game. Is Falcom accepting pre-orders for this title yet?

I already sent an e-mail to them. Hopefully it will go through this time.

They got my order request. I just replied to them. Ordering through Falcom will certainly be cheaper than Himeya Shop.

Their charge triggered a preliminary fraud alert. It is good to know that the company that issues my credit card was on its toes. The charge was legitimate of course.
