I wonder if "Last Moment of the Dark" will be in this soundtrack. I was very happy to see it pop up in the Dawn of Ys, but maybe it doesn't belong in Ys Origin. Still seems like it could happen though, with Darm Tower being a major focal point of the game.

Actually, as a heads up- Falcom's store is no longer there, to my knowledge. They have worked out deals with a variety of other electronic stores to sell their goods, but a friend stopped by there and told me that it was just offices now. Also, they're not in Tokyo proper, rather Tachikawa City, which is about 30-40 minutes to the northwest by train from Shinjuku. So it's a bit out of the ways for people visiting Tokyo, but still. If you do get to check it out, however, let me know how it goes! I'm a week in Tokyo, so that will be time that I'll check out the Falcom office, I'll take pictures

I got a peculiar feeling about the song 'Feena'. Can't describe what exactly but I know it'll do something... it always does something. I loved the music in the Ys Origin trailer. Unfortunately, Animal Crossing: Wild World has trouble mimicking it (I am not blaming myself, that would ruin the existance of my complaint. )

Well yah I'm a little dissappointed to.. The trailer music sounds absolutly awesome, a high quality Ys tune... But these samples all seem pretty weak and toned down...
I don't think any Ys game could possibly match the glory of YSF, that soundtrack was utterly flaweless and an entire remix of a soundtack that was originally flaweless...
The last 2 Ys games they've designed brand new soundtracks for. Ark and this game seem to be quite weak and tame in comparison.

A bunch of us members also grew up playing the original games so those tunes have stuck in our mind all of these years. Its difiicult to appreciate the newer music. I think that Origins overall soundtrack will be better than Ark of Napishtim being that its going to have beautiful remixes of Ys I songs. But yes, it will be tough to top Ys Oath in Felghana because even before that came out, Ys III already had the most amazing music in the series, Oath just put the icing on the cake. The music samples of Origins just dont give it justice yet and its hard to judge because who knows, it might be a whole lot better once the game is relesed and we hear the full tracks.

Hopefully there'll be a few good original pieces. Felghana is my favorite soundtrack so far, but it's not like I love every single song on there. And if I remember, when they released samples of Felghana's music before the game's release, they left alot of the awesome ones out.
So I'm not worried.

Well, I, for one, would like to hear new musics. I have all tracks of Ys I, II, III, IV, VI, and YSF (I didn't like musics in V for some reason) and listening to them is one of my favourite hobbies. But as I play more remakes and listen to rehash of these tracks, this thought of "maybe Falcom can really move on to make even greater masterpiece" gets stronger and stronger. I know it would be difficult to top these musics, but I think it's about time for Falcom to start developing new tracks.

I believe if the compositions of Ys V were given rock arrangements, they would be excellent. The more I listen to Ys V tracks they grow on me. I really love the Stormy Town and Lost Kefin tracks.
Ys Origins should have plenty of original songs to keep your thirst quenched.

I actually have the first field song, in my mind, mapped out in rock mode. I might eventually do it. If we for some odd reason, do end up doing a PCE Ys 5, then, I'll deffinitly do it!

They gave me a new version of my absolute favorite Ys song. Which is...? What I've listened to is good... and that version of Termination is pretty insanely awesome. You just answered your own question. Termination would be my favorite Ys tune.

he he, this place is lighting up like a christmas tree. I'm glad I only had a half day of work. Come home to listen to new Ys tunes!
YES! New version of "Dreaming". I love this track.
Track 18 is excellent. Its a new version of the intro of "The Dawn of Ys". Its very magnificant.
They've got a music box version of "Palace of Solomon". Which is from Ys II but heh who cares, one of my favorite Ys tracks of all time.

Which is, IMHO, very similar to the "battle" tune in Haja no Fuuin (Miracle Warriors)... Same thing, Jim Power 1st stage is very inspired from Ys III "Shakunetsu no Shitou" (Iseki - Yougan Chitei), Huelsbeck admitted it:) One of my favourite BTW...

Here is what's said, corrected gramatically, so it doesn't perfectly stick:
