I suddenly thought of this after the third(?) boss battle where I took it on at level 14 (Easy mode) but never managed to finish it off. Upon reflecting on the battle, I think I might have been able to do it had I used Boost Mode. XD
I dunno why but I just sort of forget the game even has this special power-up mode. :P This was the same thing with Felghana. :D Funny thing is, the Boost Gauge is there -- in your face. You can't miss it since it bloody BLINKS when it's ready for use.
When I actually use it though, it's usually due to the accidental hit of the button to trigger it. <:P
I guess I'm just too old school and masochistic to use special gimmicks like that ... even though it'll probably make my life easier. :B
So, does anyone have a similar experience? ^^

I rarely use it, if at all. It just doesn't seem worth it, especially with Yunica.
Having said that, when it gets powered up at the end of the game, it's much more helpful. And Hugo's version certainly gives a distinct difference - an extra two laser-ball things! I use that one occasionally.
But yeh, whenever I could do with the help (i.e. I'm in a bit of a fix...), it's too awkward to think about and switch it on, so I just don't bother and concentrate on whacking the enemies while avoiding their onslaught!

Never used it, only by accident. I don't even know why it's there - seems kinda useless to me.

Only used it for Yunica against certain bosses, and even then it was after getting Burst... never used it for Hugo, but for Thor I used it every chance I got (against bosses). Hard mode on all three.

I always forget about it too. ^_^; In Felghana always- not SO much in Origin. It was pretty handy for Hugo a lot of the time since it did give him the extra firepower and all. Although I also spammed it quite a bit with Thor, since it made him like, super crazy fast. ; Never really bothered using it with Yunica.

Yunika - Pretty much only during pound-on-bosses-weak-points sessions. Never really anywhere else.
Fact - Definitely. The extra firepower and damage increase on his fire spell made it more than worth it. I abused Burst horribly with Fact too.#
The biggest problem is I always seem to get it with Yunika when I've got only a couple of enemies left, and it seems like a waste to activate it then... then I forget about it. Ah well.

Wow, I guess I'm the only person here who uses it REGULARLY with Yunica, and notices a VERY DISTINCT DIFFERENCE. The biggest benefit it provides is less MP usage and faster MP gauge recovery, both of which are TREMENDOUSLY helpful, even in regular battles! It does? Hmmm! I'll have to try it and see now... I was always a little irked by how quick I'd run out of MP for Yunica at times when I was mercilessly spamming her wind skills and whatnot. Thanks!!

Yeh, I just improved her MP usage/recovery skills at great cost to my SP :s
I ought to make more use of Boost, really, but I'm just dissuaded by the lengthy Boost recovery time. Might make things more easy though 8)

I only usually use it fighting bosses. But when using Hugo, I do like using it with the yellow magic. Produces a great big pretty blue and black ball of DEATH!

I use Boost mode extensively. And when playing as Toal, it has one extra little side benefit that most people have yet to discover (or at least, have not bothered posting about)... Hee hee hee. Secrets are fun. Okay, one hint: it's not combat-related. Heehee, I bet I know which one that is.. ^.^ Well, I'm about to embark on my second playthrough with everyone shortly, so I'll probably try boost mode a bit more frequently. And maybe actually make use of the upgrade menu from the statues... duurrr.

Hehe, yeah, I did that too. THIS time I'll upgrade it a bit more regularly, I think. So as not to punish myself during the rest of the game.

Using The Claw's boost meter with wind magic equals utter mayhem. I like how his eyes are possesed with red trails just like the zombie ninjas in Onimusha.

The Claw + Wind Magic = Demonic Pinball of DEATH. Am I wrong?

You are right. Does feel like a demonic pinball machine.

Yeah, that's another thing that'll help with boost mode. Upgrading boost mode to be more effective!! (: -Tom What's dorky is that it seems like a lot of level 2 upgrades aren't very noticable. >:( And the amount of SP needed for level 3 is ... UGH. *rage* I think, with Yunica, I have a lot of the level 2's already so I'm currently stocking up on SP to upgrade AGAIN. ._.~ Then again, if I wasn't holding back in fighting, I wouldn't have much of an issue getting SP. :P (I'm holding back so I can attempt boss battles at lower levels for walkthrough purposes.)

Guh. Does everyone tend to use Godspeed while in Boost Mode? D: As I'm getting closer and closer to the top of the Tower, I'm using the Wind skill less and less!!
I spam the Fire spam like mad when I put the Claw in that mode and I think, during this playthrough, I've used Boost more times than I have in either Hugo or Yunica's paths or Felghana. ^^;
Blargh. I like all skills in the game except Yunica's Thunderbolt. I hardly ever used that after the Water Prison. ^^ Well, I DID use it on enemies weak to Thunder and maybe to hit enemies in the air.

Granted, I haven't touched Toal yet, but that Thunder attack really pwns.

I almost never used Boost with either Yunica (I'm going to give in to popular opinion and use the c) or Hugo. Yunica's boost is... not very noticable in my opinion. You get a defense increase, a flinch immunity, a small damage increase, and a rapid attack. The thing is that usually I'm not enough danger to need any of them. If my health gets low, there's the Spirit Cape. If I really need to blow them away and not get damaged, I can firebird them to death.
Hugo's Boost is better, but the game was a breeze to me as Hugo. By the halfway point of the game, his lower defense compared to Yunica was mostly nullified. The altered magic, though, was lots of fun. Especially the fire skill.
Toal, however... I boosted with him all the time. The game seemed balanced more with him in mind. Things were more difficult and the Boost got me out of some sticky situations.
