I'm just curious about everyone's fighting style -- mainly for my walkthrough. Just yak about any boss and how you fought them. The one I'm most interested at the moment is Jenocres cuz all my strategy consisted of was run/jump around like a maniac to avoid everything that's going on and spam charged Red Lotuses (for Yunica) on the boss. Hugo was just Barrier himself and button mash the hideous to death. ^^;

I used Barrier very rarely with Hugo against Jenocres (Hard), as the floatiness got me into more trouble. I tended to just jump over the attacks, keep moving and hit him whenever I could. Jenocres is a pretty easy boss to take on when you know his attack patterns.

Oh, I had no problem with him. I only died once with Yunica as it was the first try and I didn't know what to expect. ^^ But after seeing how it played, the second time was fine. ^-^
Basically, for this fight, I just want to know if anyone does anything other than running/jumping around (like finding a place on the battlefield to hang around <- dunno how though ^^) and what attacks people used. Or something to add to or even counter this:
* I found that the best times to get him are when the creatures are blowing * horizontal flames toward the middle, or when they're arranged in a square * pattern and blowing flames outward (since you can jump into the area be- * tween them), and when they're stationary and throwing discs or balls of * light around.
You know, I can't remember I made Hugo jump a lot. ^^ I probably didn't though cuz, like you said, floating is sort of hazardous in the battle.

For Jenocres? Hm... I spammed the firebird a lot, myself. For Yunika, anyway. For Hugo, I actually did most of my fighting up close. I looked to where he'd appear and then CHARGE with guns ablazing. Bugger didn't stand a chance. If you'll notice, Jenocres actually stays where he appears for a few moments before vanishing due to proximity. So while keeping your distance is a good idea, if you can deal with the stuff his statue shoot you up with, it's actually probably more efficient to shove it all up his rear at close range. He's a bit like Dark Fact from Ys I in that regard, keeping your distance lets you dodge more but in the long run will wear you out before him.

Oh yeah! I think I really need Yunica's fight with Kishgal. I've yet to retry it again but I seriously have horrible luck smashing into the ice stalagmites to the point that the boss doesn't even NEED to touch Yunica to kill her. :P
As a result, I don't really know what sort of attacks he has. ^^

Um ... you don't have the Fire skill during the first encounter. (I assume she meets him again?)

You can still win it, I think. I beat Thor with Hugo during their first battle. :3
Guh, I'm at the final fight now and tried it about two or three times but I keep dying once I get to the last form. (I hope it's the last change.) Guess it's time for the revival charm thing. :P
And my lord, the Yogleks and Omulgun fight kept making me laugh. I just kept laying charge bombs under Zava's shadow and knocking her out of the air that way. I just love how she would sometimes splat onto the floor. ^O^

Well, the fight isn't difficult but it's more like I feel I'm not running fast enough to get away from those two things floating around. XD I was doing well until they BOTH came up close and those magic circles that they spew out to crucify Hugo came out one after another. Of course, I STEPPED on one while avoiding the OTHER one ... >_>

How do you make Darm release the black pearl in the fight to damage him? It seems almost random... He schools me completely though.

He was pretty easy... you can just shoot away the stalagmites with fire. And the fire works pretty well on Kishgal himself, too! Just jump around and spam fire like a maniac, and you'll be fine. One of the few bosses I beat on my first try (though barely!). -Tom Actually, I didn't have a hard time with him either on my first try (this is how easy Normal is to me). Okay, I wisened up when I almost ran out of life, and I would've been able to take him out, but he hit me and I thought I died, but I had that auto-revival item equipped, so I beat him shortly afterwards.

any advice for beating Evil Toal with Hugo?
his movements are too erratic, i can't seem to predict them right now my only effective strategy is randomly laying charge bombs then run & jump around like crazy trying to avoid his ultra fast attacks and hoping that one of the bombs will detonate near him

Actually, if you feel like putting a cheap tactic that I ended up using by accident with Yunica in the guide for Pictimos, you can use the monsters he summons to restore your own health too - go into the battle with a tiny bit of exp until level up (like, if you can pull it off 15 or something), then when you start killing them you'll get the level and have all your HP restored xD I was trying not to get overlevelled so ended up getting to that and skipping every enemy and, well, that happened.
I never did work out any tactics for the character battles though, it was literally 'jump around, beat crap out of, jump around more, repeat'

any advice for beating Evil Toal with Hugo? Do you try to get him when he pauses for a bit? I think each time he zooms around, he'll stop before attacking again. That's usually the best time to go in with the Eyes on rapid fire! XD But my strategy's pretty much the same as yours. :D I loved dropping bombs behind Hugo cuz when Thor starts tailgating, he'll get hit by them. >D If only we could do that in real life with cars ...
