I need to go ahead and do that too. Also, I'm going to create some kind of custom loop so I can hear more of the opening part of the silent desert music while playing. Once is not enough.

Silent Desert is seriously one of the best Ys songs. Ever. It's impossible to get sick of it.

Agreed, and my trick worked! I love the opening part of the silent desert so much, now it is much cooler in the game.

Since I would never in a million years figure out how to do it the "correct" way, with my lack of computer skills, I figured out you can create looped tracks for as long as you want with Windows Movie Maker. Here's how I do it: Just import the track into Movie Maker, repeat it however many times you want, and save it as a normal movie file. Then convert the track to WAV/OGG and that's it. It may sound lame doing it that way, but it works! Using the same method you can create a giant medley of your favorite versions of Tower of the Shadow of Death so it never gets too boring. EDIT: I made a video of it! youtube.com/watch?v=_gPSCGc_gJU

Having gotten a listen to the OST (Ahem. We won't say how. ^.^; Hey, I have it enroute from Falcom anyway!), I find I'm a little bit let down by it. Frankly, if you own the game and can convert the OGGs to mp3 or the like, there's really no reason to purchase the soundtrack unless you just want it for collecting purposes. Why the letdown? I was sort of expecting they'd pull what they did on the Ys: Oath in Felghana OST and extend some of the tracks from the ones used in game, maybe loop them at least twice so we're not stuck with an album full of 1-2 minute songs. No such luck here. There's also an extremely annoying fade out used to "extend" some of the songs by a few whole seconds when the in-game OGGs just ended very tidily on the last notes. Bleh. There may be some slight improvement in the mixing; I haven't listened closely enough to tell yet. Edit: One amendment after listening more thoroughly than my thirty minutes at home before jaunting off to work allowed for-- the bonus track, the "full version" of the opening theme, is great stuff. But it's only one track...

I got mine today, & I love it, especially after playing the game, it's probably my favorite Ys ost ever!
Oh, & I got mine from Cocoabiz, incase anyone's wondering. Anyone else get there's yet?

Cocoebiz is a GREAT place. I ordered mine directly from Falcom, since I was getting some games and such from them too. Haven't gotten the package yet, but I imagine it's enroute.

I ordered mine from Cocoebiz, and I got it yesterday. The bonus track is a little disappointing, since it's only 40 seconds longer than the opening version.
The tracks run through once and don't loop.
Considering I don't even have Ys Origin, its better than nothing.
By the way, why does Jenocres get his own boss track? I thought he was a nobody.

Gotta say, I LOVE Termination! I was having a bad day emotionally from a crappy job we had to do, & I listened to it twice on the way home, that's songs dangerous, it makes me feel invincible!!

So the soundtrack is pretty much the same as the .oggs. That just sounds lazy whoever compiled the OST. Still the quality of the music is outstanding. I still love Oath in Felghana the best but this OST doesnt disasppoint.

I agree, it was lazy, but even with that said, this is probably my favorite Ys ost ever!

Yeah, not as much effort went into it as what the Ys OiF soundtrack received, but it's still great, great music even as-is.
