Yup.. current owners of the game have to have a CD mailed to them. Starting on 03/29, they'll be selling the game with all the new stuff already added to it.
I can't access the site now, but when I looked at it before I went to work it seems to have a LOT added to it. There's a new Arena Mode, Adol in both Napishtim and Felghana modes are usable in Time Attack and Arena Mode, Very Easy and Nightmare difficulties, alternate versions of Yunica, Hugo and The Claw with upgraded/tweaked attacks, a new costume and weapon for Yunica and a sort of Grade Shop where you assumedly buy most of this new stuff with points acquired in Time Attack and Arena Mode. Oh, and it'll work on Vista (the current version doesn't?).
That's all off memory.. so I'm probably missing things.

Well now, that looks like loads of fun.
But I wonder how those of us doing international orders from Falcom can get our greedy little paws on it (shrot of ordering the game again with the stuff prepackaged), since those orders have to be done via e-mail. Because I'd so add that disc to my pending order with them. Rawr.

Is there Adol in story mode? Also what does the alternate version of Hugo and Toal look like? I only saw the alternate Yunica but not the rest.

Sweet! I always thought Origins took a step backward from Felghana in not having other Costums. Sounds good!

Adol does not appear in scenario/story mode. (Arena mode and time attack only).

Yunica is the only one (at least on the site) with an new LOOK. The alternate versions I mentioned are from a gameplay standpoint.. they all still look the same (except Yunica has the option for a new look). Sweet! I always thought Origins took a step backward from Felghana in not having other Costums. Sounds good! Well.. to be fair Felghana just had six versions of the exact same Adol model. Origin had three completely separate characters.. quite a bit of difference in the workload.

Did anyone else notice that Adol apparently switched his sword hand from Ark to Oath? So he's Ambidexterous. Makes sense for a hero of his caliber

Very Easy and Nightmare difficulty modes. Self-explanatory. Snore. Diary menu: As in Oath in Felghana, this provides info about the various people you meet and monsters you defeat... monster stats get filled in gradually as you kill more of them. More work for you. Arena Mode: Kind of like the Bloody Palace in Devil May Cry 3... you fight hordes of normal enemies. This mode must be unlocked in some way. Bonus Shop: By using the SP earned in Arena mode, you can unlock even more enhancements. This is probably my most anticipated new feature! Yunica, Hugo and The Claw powerup: By meeting certain requirements, you can unlock alternate versions of the three protagonists and play the "Extra Version" game. I wonder if it'll check your old saves for these "requirements." Playable Adol: By meeting certain requirements, two versions (Ys VI and Oath in Felghana) of Adol will be playable in Time Attack and Arena mode. There are hints that he may become playable in Story Mode, if one truly masters him in Arena Mode. Story Mode? Sexual Chocolate! Yummy. Super-secret boss fight, a la Berhard in Oath in Felghana Or Black Picard.

Hmm...quite a bit confusing.
So, there are two ways to get all of those add-ups: 1.Ordering de CD-ROM 2.Wait some time for a new Ys ORIGIN release.
I just don't understand why Falcom doesn't hold the game's release, then lauch it totally complete. =/
But that is AWESOME news anyway. Also Adol has got an Ys ORIGIN artwork style instead of that HORRIBLE Felghana artwork (<__< Worst Adol look ever in my oppinion).

It shouldn't be confusing.. if you own the game now, you get a free upgrade. If you don't own it now, order it after the 29th to get the whole shebang. The CD-ROM upgrade is FREE; you just have to pay for shipping (but since Falcom only uses EMS for international orders, that's still probably a big nut to swallow). Honestly, I don't see why it can't be a download patch.. most companies offer game demos these days that rank in as 1 GB downloads so it's not like distributing a large file is debilitating.
And the game shipped complete as it was.. this is just added crap.

Eh.. there's got to be a better (and cheaper) way then pressing (and packing and shipping) a bunch of CDs. Maybe they're just trying to make it harder for pirates to get the goods, Nightwolve-style.
I'm not a Yunica fan, character-wise, but I do like me some school girl uniforms.
If Adol in story mode is true.. I hope it's played off like a big time-traveling joke, with a total nonsense plot. Hopefully they'll do something to vary it up form Yunica's scenario since they play practically identical.

You should have heard me sitting here and constantly shrieking, "What!? WHAT!? WHAT!?!?!?!?" as I went through each section of the Game Sysem (^^;;) page.
I gotta pay for this damn CD!? AND THEY WILL SHIP IT EMS!? FOR A FREE CD!?
They should be nicer to us overseas folks that support them. ://///
Seriously, I can see this being like $20 US for shipping just to get this bloody thing.
Sigh.
Does a free CD justify torrenting it? :P *gets punched by everyone*

Just the sprite change is enough for me. I love Adol (in a non-sexual way/ with a passion). : )
Also I think it's very obvious Adol is/ can be in story mode as a joke. "Time-travelling" or whatever has the potential to suck the plot greatly. Falcom wouldn't do it, no matter how much they tend to do some "mistakes".

Does a free CD justify torrenting it? :P *gets punched by everyone* Honestly, if it's a free upgrade that they're only shipping out on CD because they don't have a means of digital distribution, I don't see the problem with that. But that's just me. I know EMS starts at about $10-$12, but after paying $80+$20 for the game originally, it's still annoying.

Mind letting us all know what you hear back from Falcom, Deuce? ^^;; I've got a big order pending until 3/29 with them already, so I'm hoping I can maybe sneak the CD in there and save on shipping costs..... And I spy with my little eye in those screens... new Adol art. XD NUMMY.
