Hey, does anyone know where I can find the symphony version? I've got the Perfect Collection of Ys 1, 2 and 3 and they're nice but what I REALLY want is to get Ys Symphony, Symphony 95 and then the Symphony 21st C Know any online store (other then ebay)? I'm trying to write some arrangements... lol, so far... 5 bars Or know where I can download them? I only found one track from some of them. I think they were sample tracks or something. I'd want the real thing but downloading will do

Ys Symphony 21st Century is the only one I don't have. Too bad it was only packaged with the limited edition of Ys I & II Complete. I doubt I'll ever get to hear it.

Oh, I highly recommend the three Ys IV Perfect Collection CDs. They are long out of print, but you can find them on ebay every once in a while - usually very expensive though. These 3 discs are probably my favorite Ys music. They are also the last Ys tracks ever arranged by Ryo Yonemitsu.

I haven't played Ys IV because I don't own a SNES but I've got an emulator and playing it right now. Well, it's the SNES ver... colour's a bit poor (compared to Ys 1&2 of TCD) but till good and the music is just sooo midi... lol but it's still great. I think my uncle has like the entire Turbo/PCE collection and I won't be surprise if some of you know him. Anyway, I might be interesed in playing the Turbo Ys 4 but can't read Japanese I will look into Ys 4 Perfect Collection but what I really want is the symphony version. Does anyone have the Piano Collection? I found a copy but I didn't buy it cause wasn't that interested in piano version.

Nah, the Perfect collection CDs are from the PC engine Ys IV. But I still prefer the SNES game, the one you're playing.

Yea, the SNES Ys4 doesn't sound bad. It can be compared to 1 and 2 but I was a bit disappointed when Adol returns to Minea and it's completely different music It felt like it lost some kinda of link to previous Ys games... but still the music was great

Yes. The whole ESTERIA was a dissapointment in YsIV - in one way - the music is boring. And there's just ONE song in the whole place. (Also, you can't enter the mines!). But it's wonderful that they DID put Esteria in there. It's such a nice place.

And you could always get it from other people willing to "share". Two places come to mind - rpgamers.net, where they have various FTP servers you can download from, and RIGG, where you can use a peer-to-peer program to share files with others. I've been able to get many of the Falcom soundtracks from these 2 places and I've seen someone at RIGG that has Ys 21st Century. And speaking of music, a while ago I ran into this website that has incredibly good arrangements of several Ys songs. Definitely worth a download: adol.jp/user/a.htm. The site's in Japanese and the songs look to be samples from Falcom Special Box '91.

I got one Ys soundtrack off bittorent and it's an electric orchestral version... "Ys I JDK Band & Ys IV JDK Electric Orchestra Edition" Actually, if anyone is interested... I'd be happy to share... it's actually pretty good and the electric orchestra edition is really cool my uncle has quite a few and i borrow 2 disc that i dont have... one is Temple of the Sky one (i think that's the title) and the Ys Eternal soundtrack. Now... on to the 21st Century soundtrack hunting!!

If you want to buy the album, you can also try searching bidders.co.jp or yahoo japanese auctions. You can get things from there via the mail order japan website : www.mailorderjapan.com/ (it works very well ^^)

Actually, Ys Symphony 21st Century is my least favorite of their symphony CDs. At the absolute top of the list would have to be the original Ys Symphony. The arrangements are just so varied and sound great since they used an actual symphony orchestra. After that, I'd have to say Falcom Neo Classics, although I've only heard the Lilia Suite off that one, it's as good as any of the tracks in Ys Symphony. Next on the list would be Ys Symphony '95, but the sound suffers due to it using synthesized instruments. And last would be 21st Century - the synth is even lower quality than '95, which doesn't make sense since it should've been made on synthesizers that are 8 years more advanced. I've yet to hear Falcom's other orchestral albums, like Ys V orchestra (though I'd like to acquaint myself with the music by playing the game first). And I think Ys III Super Arrange and Ys Dramatic Concert also qualify as orchestral? So, if I had to rate the Ys Symphony albums I've heard (scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest): Ys Symphony - 10+ Falcom Neo Classics - 10 (although based on only one song) Ys Symphony '95 - 8 Ys 21st Century - 6
