I got this book. I don't know about any "secrets", since it's all in Japanese. It does, however, have a lot of really good pictures. Although most of them have already been published recently, like in the Ys 1 & 2 Complete and Ys VI instruction books. But overall, I like the book a lot. It's got a lot of pages, although only about half of them are in color.

Just got my mom to help me read some of the Chinese words I think it's a walkthrough for the game... but if you can't read the Japanese then the nice pictures is what you want

Just got my mom to help me read some of the Chinese words Wait a sec. - Don't you mean it's in Japanese? Why would it be in Chinese? Anyway, I really like that they've collected pretty much every single piece of Ys art out there - from Ys I to Ys VI.

It's in Japanese but Japanese uses some Chinese words
like the 3 words before "Perfect Data" Those 3 are Chinese words and on the image... beside "Ys 6" the 4 words are Chinese.

Wow You learn something new everyday... So is it safe to assume that Chinese is the "master" oriental language, and all the others "evolved" from it? Sort of like Latin is to every other Western language? BTW - how do you know Chinese? Are YOU chinese?

Yes, I am Chinese I would think that Chinese is the "master" language but only Korean (similar square shaped words) and Japanese (uses Chinese characters and Japanese alphabet) have some relation to Chinese. The South Asian countries like Vietnam (has no actual 'words' but just western alphabet pronounciation), Thailand and Indonesia do not have any link to Chinese/Korean/Japanese culture... but then again, that's my theory.
