I've made some progress on CRIMSON TEARS now, I'm still thinking of a title change, but I think I'll keep this. Until we've seen what happens to the PS2 game. Anyway, I've decided to show you a little "map" of the small testing area that I've created. And one more screenshot. New since last time is mountain tiles and "water" tiles. I've added more stuff that can't be seen here though, and of course I'll add a LOT more tiles! There's a lot of things that needs to be added, but the game's a lot more "playable" right now. I'm thinking of releasing a small demo for you to test, like a "first impression" and so I can see what you think. New is also the icon that I "created". This is only temporary, though. I can't say I like it. Anyway, what would be appreciated is ideas for music. It feels like the same old Ys music would be quite boring. I mean, we've heard it lots of times already (although, it's some hi-quality music! ). I'm thinking of using a certain song from Castlevania: Rondo of blood, you know, the one for PC-Engine. But I am not sure.

You should get Dale North or Jared Hudson to do a couple tracks for you, or ask to use some of thier current tracks! They're both very kind and supremely tallented. If you don't know them go to OC Remix and look them up - listen to their work. Jared has a bunch of original stuff on his own site too, and he's just insanely good. As good as Falcom's own team. I mean it.

About the music... you know i can do it, that is if you want me to. (but in that case it will be only MIDI)

I know. But I am thinking of combining MIDI with MP3, even though I'd want to use MP3s all the way. Though that would increase the filesize drastically.

Game's looking good, and I think you would totally spoil it if you used Castlevania music, it's either Ys mixes or Ys inspired original music. The best music format I know for games is the modular one: .IT, S3M, .XM, .MOD. Its a balance between sound quality and low file sizes. If you manage to get some working demo and it shows quality, many musicans will be interested I'm sure (including me). PS: Seldane check your PM's I sent you one

Indeed I have. I do have the MIDIs but there is also a CD containing that music, which is not MIDI. That music is just great, and it reminds me a lot of Ys V, I don't really know why, but I do plan to use that music, at least some of it.
