Hello all. I just recieved Ys I Complete (imported it). I installed it with no problem and patched it up with the translation and it all runs fine... but there is one problem. There are no sound effects... The music runs perfectly, but there are no sound effects at all. Has anyone had this similar problem, is there a way to fix this problem... Please help me... I love you all

Is there any configuration program? Or a cfg (or similiar) file? If there is, try editing out a couple of things (make a backup of the config file first) and it might just work.

I messed around with the config file, but I it has nothing to do with it. I reinstalled it and tested it out still in Japanese and the WAVE music and the sound effects WORKED! YAY! But.... When i patched it with the new 1.07 patch (replaced old Ys_win.exe with the 1.07, is that the way to do it?) and then put on the english translation (Nightwolf) the WAVE files no longer worked and the sound effects didnt work either. The midi files worked tho... Maybe i didnt patch it correctly, or didnt translate correctly... has anyone else had this problem? Can you guys tell me how to patch it to 1.07, and translate it step by step? Please help me guys

Well, I am not sure how Ys complete works, but in Ys VI, you just run the patching program and it will replace/edit the required files for you. Did you try that? Because you might have been patching the program incorrectly, and that might cause your problems. I'll see if I can find an "installation manual" for the english patch for you. Edit: OK; I found one. Check this out! Or, just read it right here: HOW TO - Applying my Ys Eternal Complete patch Download YSC0107.zip, extract YS1_WIN.EXE & YS2_WIN.EXE and replace these files in the game folder (in FALCOM\YS12_CMP\ - default installation folder). Be sure to delete YS1_WIN.EXE.BAK or YS2_WIN.EXE.BAK when performing this step - these may have been backuped from older versions of the patch. Download YsI(PC-US).cab, and YsII(PC-US).cab After you uncab them, you'll find you have 2 folders, YS1_WIN and YS2_WIN. Copy all contents of the YS1_WIN folder into your YS1_WIN game folder... That's including all files and subfolder(s). Repeat for YS2_WIN Goto your YS1_WIN game folder, double click or run PATCH-YS1_WIN.bat - this will patch both YS1_WIN.EXE and OpeningOld.exe (the old animation which you may have). Follow directions and proceed accordingly. You should see success messages when complete Goto your YS2_WIN game folder, double click or run PATCH-YS2_WIN.bat - this will patch both YS2_WIN.EXE and YSE_CNF.EXE (the configuration utility - you may have to rename it to YSE_CNF.EXE as Falcom has given this file a different name in at least one of their releases) Again, follow directions and proceed accordingly. You should see success messages when complete

I also had this problem, and I was unable to fix it. However, if you change the sound from Wave, to SC88 or whatever the music and soundeffects both run now. I think it's supposed to be lower quality, but it sounds great to me.
