Plus you need to download a patch from NightWolve's site to fix the music problem; Ys I tunes need to be played in a different frequency than Ys II tunes, as they were both recorded in different frequencies. However, I find that I need to change frequencies whenever I switch games. Hmm, I don't remember seeing any other patches besides the ones currently up on Nightwolve's temporary news site. Do you know if the frequency thing is for the downloaded version, or is it for the CD/DVD versions as well? I seem to remember reading on Nightwolve's site (where I first learned of the trial versions) that something about the music was changed for the downloads. At least, I think that's what I read - can't double-check right now, since most of his normal website went offline a while ago. Alright, I've decided to go ahead and remove those links to the trial versions for the time being, just to be on the safe side. My apologies to everyone for spreading misinformation - clearly, I should have made a better attempt to translate the material on those pages before clicking the download links. In any case, I think I'll go order a legitimate copy of Ys I and II Complete right now - I don't want to be hurting Falcom's sales if I can help it. Besides, maybe this way that music problem will finally get resolved. =p You're fine, I wasn't trying to criticize anyone here. Yeah, I understand that you weren't trying to criticize me. However, the fact remains that I didn't do enough research. If I had realized it was meant to be a trial version, and not a free full download of the game, then I would've gone ahead and bought the DVD version right then.

It works for both. I can testify to this, as I've used it to get the music on the d/l version to play. It is odd because Ys I is 22 vs. Ys II's 44. So you have to switch between the two for the d/l version inbetween games.

I guess I'll find out for certain when the game arrives.

The DVD version of Ys I.II COMPLETE has the frequency set at 44Hz for both Ys I and Ys II. (Technically it's one game. )

Hm... which is odd because the D/L Ys I is set to 22Hz Freq. *yawns*

The DVD version of Ys I.II COMPLETE has the frequency set at 44Hz for both Ys I and Ys II. That's good news. So the thing I read on Nightwolve's site a while ago was referring to the music frequency being changed for the Ys I download. I wonder why they'd do that for Ys I, but not II, though...?
