Then she puts the heater on high all the time. =| Actually it shifts between warm and hot all the time, and that wouldn't change even if I did wear pants. My legs aren't what get cold it's my arms that are the problem. Yakra: Luckily the Cap'n and I come from a family that doesn't care as long as you're wearing something when you walk through the house.

Um... when I think about it, I guess my family wouldn't either? But I guess the people on the streets would definately start jumping about if I wore any less..? I envy you! It's so damned hot here! (It would help if the icky humid-ness got reduced somehow!)

See, that's another difference in the way I think about men vs. women! If you were a guy, Del, I'd just be like, "yeah, I do that too, in my own apartment, but I always at least wear pants when I go outside"... but since you're a woman, all I can think is, "that's hot!!" It's very juvenile of me, but I can't help it! Women in underwear are sexy. -Tom Male or Female seems to me the first thing that comes to mind for t shirt and underwear worn around the house is that they are down to earth. Its nice that people are casual.

I'm neither surprised, nor disgusted in the least.
As far as my not wearing pants outside, I only do that if I going to stay on our road. If anyone were to complain I'd put some on but until then I refuse to make myself swelteringly hot or feel like crap just for the neighbors. Though if I plan on going any farther then I do put on a skirt for my on good.

Somehow, I just never noticed these responses. That's not like me at all. Anyway, uhhh... chicks in underwear. Yay. Enthusiasm? Me? Never!
The bigger question is... "a skirt and sweatpants?" Hmmm... yeah, I'm not asking. I wouldn't, I can't. Hell, I'm damned if I can even picture it. All I can say is damn, if you can go in the cold in those, I'll have to agree with yakra. I don't even go out in the *summer* without my all-black get-up, clothes thicker than an eskimo's jacket. Don't ask me why, I just feel very inconspicuous if my physical body gets much lesser exposure than my... "outer shell of clothing". I like being inconspicuous, even if my kind of inconspicuous makes me a walking target since I'm the only tall skinny guy out here who wears humongous clothing. X)

Well I only wear the skirt over the sweatpants because I hate pants just that much, I don't even like people seeing me in them. Plus I don't wear short skirts, the ones I like go down a bit passed my knees (at the least). My favorite one is teal and goes down to my ankles. =)

Hey, that's cool. It sounds like you don't dress like a skank or a tomboy, and have acquired your own style in the middle of it all. That's pretty respectable, if Nep may say so himself. Not to be personal, but aye, cleavage. Just small talk. You don't strike me as the type, but just because, I'll ask. Do you wear shirts that show a little, a lot, or any cleavage? You don't have to answer (or pm) but it isn't my business.

I wear XL t-shirts almost all the time because I feel very uncomfortable showing off my body (not that I have much to show off), so no cleavage for me anyway it would take strategic use duct tape for me to have any to begin with. =P
Also, Yay! I have avoided the title of "Skank", bypassed the title for "Tomboy", and acquired the title of "Pretty Respectable". C=

Two things! 1. You cover up. Alot. That's awesome! 2. "Filling out" is overrated. Some women fill out, and they get dudes left and right... and then they get sick of it. Some of them get sick of it fast, and others... well, abuse it. Not to mention that it also attracts trouble, which from what you've said so far, is something you'd like to avoid. Very classy!

Yes avoiding trouble is good, I'm quite pleased that I tend to look acceptable for public but not good enough to attract anyones attention. I'm not sure how I respond if I ever did.... well outside of conventions anyway. =]

"Looking good enough to attract" usually isn't a good thing. In my book. A beautiful mind is far beyond physical attraction and that's something people should look out for. Consider this: you're on your death bed. Do you want someone who says hell with you, do not resuccitate and sleeps with the girl/guy next door, or someone who will say "Look, that's a person I really care about. Give him/her a blood transfusion. They need oxygen! I want him/her to know I'll care about him/her until s/he leaves this mortal coil." -- a bit mellodramatic, and a bit general, but I think it gets the point across. Basically, it's like the question "If you had to choose between a blonde bimbo with voluptuous jugs, and some nasty looking, smelly wench with a big heart, what would you pick?" a lot of guys want both, but if there was no other option -- chances are that I'd go with the one with the big heart, as opposed to the ditz who's looking for a man just for the sake of security. "He'll take care of me. When he's dead or when I choose not to care, I'll move on to the next stinker that can pay my way to heaven." I'm not the one to be giving advice, but my mother and grandmother would always tell me to keep my chin up, that things will work out. One more thing: Feel good about yourself. For some people, that's like asking pigs to fly, but it's always worth a shot. If you can be happy just by being you, that's how it should be. Of course, whether or not this applies, I don't know, but don't rely on others to make you feel good about yourself. You don't need someone to make you feel pretty, or tell you that you have a beautiful mind; it's better to accept this on your own. I don't mean that you're not allowed to feel good when someone tells you something nice about you, but simply that it's not the confirmation you need. The confirmation you need is the acceptance that you have to one day find in yourself. This is a life lesson I'd been working on since day one, actually. Anyway, I don't know if this wall of text applies or will help, but from what I see, you have quite a few people pulling for you, Captain and all -- and of course, if you're ever in need, look to him for advice. He has some good nuggets of wisdom if you need any. I'm sure I didn't need to tell you that though... I mean, he's right there, right? X)

Oh, don't worry I'm happy and just fine with who I am and how I look. I just get really nervous when people I don't know approach me, I've never been good dealing with people I don't know. Plus I have a slight phobia of people looking at me (not sure why) but it makes me want to go and hide until they go away.

That's good that you're happy. As far as the phobia is concerned, I've never heard of it and I really don't have advice for it. My own thing is just feeling that I'm always being watched, 99.9% of the time. So it creeps up on me; am I walking and talking right, or is someone going to laugh? X) These are things I've come to deal with, however. I topped one paranoia off with another one -- are they going to laugh, are they going to judge? Are they going to spit in my face, throw rocks at me and make me their soccerball? So I hide, and here I am. I guess the only thing to do, perhaps the right thing to do, is to let it be.

Oh my, well I'm glad I don't normally feel like that when I'm in public. The best way to put it is when people look at me I just get really flustered and embarrassed (which is something I don't like to be) and things just get awkward. If it's a guy then they think I like them (which has so far never been the case) and if it's a girl then they think I'm strange (in a bad way). Thus I find the best thing to do is avoided such situations. =/

Ouch; it's pretty simialar, though. You're afraid that you'll act out in a way that will set off a false alarm, so you avoid it by hiding -- not letting it happen. Just as I do, you solve this by hanging out online. It's a comfortable space -- nobody comes in and disturbs you, but you socialize.
My question is, how do you (or how do you plan to) solve this for work-related things? Most jobs these days require a fair amount of socializing. I mean, I get that you do the whole computer thing and some odd jobs, but have you figured out how you're going to "keep your shield up" and work in a comfortable environment -- or home?

I'll admit, I hesitated posting that for a while... but I figure, no one on here will really care. I doubt anyone is surprised, nor disgusted by this fact. -Tom You're right. xD Besides, if I were not to post every time I hesitated posting, I guess I would rather have done 500 posts instead of 1000. xDD We all hesitate ocasionally, hehe. xD Oh, also to be more ontopic, I don't like wearing shorts much since I usually wake up at 5:00AM to go to college, and at that time it's always cold. At least cold enough to make me wear any sort of pants. And a coat.

Nah man, we got it. There's nothing wrong with you. I admit I kinda derailed it, but it was educational and fun. I learn more about others and myself through this game of... talking. I like it. I should talk more. X) I mean, just the fact that I could open up and not be totally "You are a terrible, terrible woman. Go away!" was something in and of itself. Go figure, I was able to learn something about someone else and myself, without getting into an argument or an all-out war. That's progress. Wyrdwad: Women in underwear! X)

Yeah Wyrdwad, don't worry about it. xD At least for me it's clear you are a fine person. xD And Unsavory Maggot ("Chryolos", eh? xD), exchanging ideas with others is something I personally love to do. You can always learn many things from everybody. Knowledge is never too much. =] Isn't it also eleventy billion degrees kelvin at all times in Brazil? Kelvin. xD Long time no see that temperature measure. =] Yeah, well, usually it's very hot here. Around I live, the temperature is usually around its 25°C to 33°C (when it's hot). It can get higher than that sometimes. 10°C is considered cold. 0°C here is "totally" cold for us, and it rarely reaches that temperature here. Like twice per year or something. But it depends of the place you live. Brazil is huge, being the 5th biggest country. I live in the Southeast region. In the South region is REALLY cold (around -10°C at the worst cases), but also VERY hot at Summer (it can surpass 40°C). In the North and Northeast regions, it's always hot I suppose (I've never been that far). Constant temperature would be 40°C I think. I think it can reach 50°C at times. The problem is: in northeast it doesn't rain at all. Many people suffer due this. In north there are places like Amazonia that rains lots, almost daily I think. Not sure if that info is interesting for you, but there it is. xD Also I hope you are a bit familiar with the °C measures. =s I forgot the formula to convert °C to °F. (Though if you know Kelvin you may easily convert from °C to it. You just gotta add +250 or +300 or +350 or something to the value. I saw that at school some years ago.)
