I'm inclined to call bullshit solely because every forum I've worked with is highly differentiating in how PMs and forum threads are handled. Not that I can say for sure on this specific software.
The lack of any form of apology and the "It was deleted. By ME. I rule!" doesn't inspire much good will.

Don't moderators have a special "Trash Bin" section of sorts for them to hide threads by placing them there? Oh well~ xD
