Hi, if you have read the 00 Gundam thread I have decided to make a thread based on Gundam Models and the history of Gundam and since its related mostly on Anime it will be at the anime section. I have had quite a extensive history of Gundam models as well Warhammer models. It all started around the end of Wing on Toonami along with GGundam(even though it kinda sucked ) and Adult swim when they had 0083, and 0080( I would have watched 0079 but my stupid parents didn't pay for the cable that summer.....jerks !) Over my early teens I've spent time babysitting for money for rare Nes games and Buying japanese models from a hobby store. The instruction were simple so I don't know why it was hard for anyone to understand. They used to sell models at toystores but they stopped showing up when Seed got too violent on Toonami, but hopefully when 00 comes out it should come straight back and hopefully a MG of Exia. Why I stopped ? don't know, probably not as challenging I guess or money problems. Probably because I was interested in Painting than building so went into Warhammer and also cause I could use them to play with others. Now with a Job and Internet I might collect a couple in the future but for now lets show off our collection. Heres My 1/100 Talgeese 3

Out of Curiosity, I have also found a website were you could buy models at a good price, cause usually the models are expensive like at Toys'R'Us GP02 was 100 dollars while here its 40. Just in case anyone was interested. I didn't mean to get you involved again, I just wanted to see your collections and show you mine as well. I'll also show you my twin brother's models as well since we were both collectors. I'll post an image for real next time. www.hobbywave.com/plastic_models/gundam

This is my twin brother's Hyaku-Shiki. One of our most beautiful models we have to date. He got this a couple of years ago for a birthday present while I got a white Zaku II, both MG. Some of our models are a little dusty due to being on the shelf for so long. I remembered That I had a Astron Gundam Custom 1/100 that I forgot to finish, I got Astron Right after TalgeeseIII.

Sadly some models are out of Stock like my Beloved Sazabi , but I'm sure if you asked they could re-stock. Sazabi is by far one of my favorite mobile suit, in Gundam Battle Assault 2 it was my second best character (RX-79 my first) its just so cool looking, and its pilot the red comet, but eventually then I would have to get NU nu or Hi-Nu. I glad I showed you the website then .

I am going to have to grab a Gundam off that site soon, but I am looking for some cheaper ones to "practice" on. I really have to get better tools, and I think I am going to start spraying and painting now. Its manditory for Macross models, and I am getting bored with snapping peices together, and just going over the edges/grooves with a fine tip marker. Its exciting though, because my interest in Gundam modeling is totally revamped.
For my Gundam of the month I got a RGM-79 GM SNIPER, and while its built its going to take me some time to "rub on" decals done.... There are a TON of them for this model. Its because of this model I really want to start painting, as its green and grey, somthing that looks very tacky unless you paint.
The other model I picked up, but havent started on yet is something I have been searching for a very long time. A 1/100 Gundam Double X, and I am very excited to get that one started!!

I've Bought GP02 for a present for my brother, don't tell him ! I'm just going to use my Games workshop utilities for the Gundam, Its not approved but its the only paint I trust. Usually you don't have to paint that much since the pieces are already the color its more of painting the small crevices with black is the trick, What I used to due is get flat black paint and wipe out the crevices. Is Double X MG?, I know the sniper is .

No Double X is HG, but I am going to try painting anyways, just to increase my interest in the hobby. I finished the Sniper tonight, and here it is: The decals were really fun to do, and this didn't turn out too bad I guess. The wires are pretty cool, and like all the accessories available. There was a weapon box I never finished, and I probably wont any time soon (Space constraints), and Bandai packed 2 sets of stickers/decals by accident, so now I have some extras I can stick on another Model. Here is a shot from the side showing the wiring:

Its good your starting up a collection, and with good models. My brother just got GP02 today and everyone is overwhelmed by the size. In a week or two I might get some more models such as Hi-Nu or something else. I'll remember in future to post more pics.

UGH.....
I started using Gundam Markers at the suggestion of my local retailer. I like them, but its really hard to make seamless lines, and 2 coats really makes it look like crap. I think I am going to spring for some nice paint brushes, and thin coat my next model that way.

I never new you were suppose to use markers or were markers, the brushes sounds more convenient!

www.gundamshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=MKThey spread really nice, and I am not having problems now, but it took me a bit of time to get used to them. Most of my troubles comes from my extremely shaky hands. I am doing all this on a 1/100 Wing Zero model, and so far I am really liking it. It adds TONS of time, and really extends the whole process, which is never a bad thing.

I've checked the website out and found most of the models are out of Stock, but at least you get to rate them, but I like the other one better with a more variety of Models. Wing Zero sounds hard to do with a marker especially with all the crevices in the wings. Good luck.

Practice makes perfect, and I rarely buy models of a website, unless I go with ebay.

I finally finished it.... I wont use those gundam markers again, I will probably spray paint from now on, but I did get a chance to practice some of the harder etching with a pen, and painting was fun overall. It really extended the whole process over 7 days, so I feel a little more attached to this model. I did make some MAJOR mistakes though, as I painted blue over where it should have been white, and there are some black smudge marks I just couldn't get off. Oh well I think it looks good, my next one is going to be a 1/144 Talgesse version 1.
