When I first installed the game and played it, I could hear the BGM well, but as soon as I started the game, there was no music, only the sound FX. I'm sure there must be some options to fix it, but I'm not too savvy on installing games right now . Perhaps I need to update the patches?

You need this: YsHighResoPut it in the Ys folder, run it, choose 22. If that doesn't work, run it again and try 44. One of them should work. And I totally uploaded this one right here and now, because nobody else is thoughtful enough to provide it.

So, uh, did it work? It would be good to know, as a lot of people (including myself) have had this problem, and I have personally always been able to solve it using this program. Most people never try it though, I think. If it worked for you, I bet it would work for everybody. And then, it needs to get its own - pinned - topic.

I just coppied the Wave folder from the cd to the game folder, and the music plays fine without me having to have the cd in the computer while I play.

Yep, but that is a different problem. Plus, you get to choose to do a small installation (no wave, cd required) or a full installation (all wave files included) when you run CD #1 or the DVD.

But the same problem was happening to me before I coppied the wave folder.
