I am soo sorry my comment wasn't critical enough for you! But really, you're talented. Talented enough that all my incompetence can offer is ". . s'good. . ."

H'okay! Now that I've made Chrome and Proboards like each other somehow....... :D CRITIQUE TAIMU DESU.
Ahem.
The good: In general, you manage to nail a good variety of head/face shapes. Anime style can VERY easily lead one into samey-samey designs, but I think you avoid that.
Your folks have personality going on; I can look at them and I get a pretty good feeling that they're characters, not just random designs. I'm a huge, huge, huge stickler on this, so bravo to you! :D
The criticizing: The necks are a bit thick on some of the characters (females in particular) for my taste- but that could be a personal preference thing. Anime style stuff does tend to be exaggerated, so you might slim down your girls' limbs a bit to make them more delicate. Bear in mind I'm speaking from the stance of a girl who draws.. well, girly shoujo style art. So again- might be preference talking. ^^;
The eyes-- I assume if you color these, you're filling in stuff like catch light (the eye shiny parts~) and pupils, right? Without any of that in just the pencil lines... it looks creepy. x_x; You might consider lightly drawing or shading in some semblance of a pupil and gleam, just so it looks more complete in sketch form. Again though- that's kind of up to you and your approach.
All in all? Looking pretty good there, sir. :) Keep it up!

Yeah the blank zombie stares are just a result of no color. I add depth to the eyes etc. when I either color or shade. Sorry for the creepy.
The necks always give me trouble, I'll see what I can do.

No problem. :D And yeah, having seen your colored stuff I figured you were just the type to add the eye detailing as part of the coloring process, which is fine. It all boils down to personal preference anyhow. As for the femmy necks- best advice I can give is look to one of your artist inspirations, or to some stock photography, and pay special attention to the curvature of the area on a person. I'd recommend the latter; you learn way more than you think even for non-realistic stuff by doing it. :3 Oh, and here's the slew of original artspam I promised earlier, I guess. Also got some random junk, including sexy BlazBlue fanart, sitting on my tumblr account as linked in the signature. :D So yay.

I have random spams to post too~! :'D After long whiles? Since I wasn't quite drawing much worth putting up like so~ (Not that THIS doodle is any better, but since I'm kind of actually liking this game... *obligatory spam*) I just started poking around in Cladun x2 the other day, and while so far it seems kind of simply 'okie enough' - as with all games like so, where one has to create one's own characters and parties from a scratch, personality-less people who's stories one is making up in one's own mind (hallo Etrian Odyssey!), it sent me off running to make fanarts of me characters. X'D I guess it also helps that unlike Etrian Odyssey, in Cladun x2 I can SUPER customize and personalize me characters. *spends two hours just drawing one's character ingame* *then spends another 2 hours drawing fanart of one's chaacter~!* *spends 15 minutes actually playing the game* *kicked and told to get priorities straight~*X'D (Painting on a laptop is hard... @__@ Woonky screens. ) Also~! Spamus: I think Lumi kind of already gave super critiques and pointed out all that needed to be pointed out soooo.... I'll just say I find them all super nice! Their personalities really do shine through their designs, which is... kind of really amazing. Since basically all that one is seeing are headshots and even with those, each person does look super different. Yay for non-generic faces?! About how you could improve (though I think you're pretty amazing already!) - um... I'm not sure how helpful this advice would be or no, but sometimes, when I'm drawing people, I tend to first draw the head like a round... oval. Basically, a very loose skull. Which I.... then divide in half, depending on where ever I am placing the nose. What this makes me do in the end is.... I end up with both sides of the face looking balanced. Making frontal, full face poses is hard! You've done super good in making these look this nice! (I love the Iyana's design the most somehow!) Edit!: Eep! Sneaky Lumi posts that I missed thanks to procrastinating upon posting this, and going through the links in Lumi signatures! Me god, those are AMAZING Lumi! I love the last two! .... *saves* X'D

The oval base is what I do, and honestly it does work. Thing with these is they were done entirely without a ruler or anything to measure if I had both halves the same size. Had to eyeball it all.
Also, Lumi, your art makes me thing of Fire Emblem huge time for some reason. This is a good thing.

Yakra pretties strike again! I love your character designs. So cute and fairytale-ish. Makes me think a lot of the more recent Seiken Densetsu things... which is an instant win for me. :3 So, to agree with what Yakra's advice was- and to illustrate that I do the same thing and it works wonders for me too (for those who may need it)... here is a work in progress series, of the Vyridias character design I already showed: :D And I'm so very tickled and pleased for the Fire Emblem reference to my works, so thankies Spamus~! XD I'm a huge fan of FE artwork, so yeah.. that's high praise to me. :3 Thanks to you as well, Yakra. XD The 'scene' one is one of my personal faves...

I regularly browse through the Creative Uncut galleries of FE stuff just going "ooooo, I love these designs ooooooo". Your armor designs remind me of FE, with the trimming and smooth plating and such.
FFFFF Lumi thats gorgeous. So cleeeaaaan!

My collection of FE artwork and fan art is .... pretty ridiculous, really. But I love it so very much. Funnily enough- I've found that the photography class I took recently at school has helped me immensely in thinking up more dynamic portrait images. My stuff prior to that used to be pretty... static. Now I try to play up fun angles and mess with depth of field a lot more than I used to. I still feel like I kinda suck at armor, though. But thank you! Here's a roughie I cranked out real fast for another new character:

To be honest the thing about you that still frankly stuns me is how fast you can crank these out. I feel so slow by comparison when it takes me a half hour to churn out an uncolored mugshot. If I'm in a hurry.

Well... to be fair- a rough like the one above? That takes me ten minutes if I have a pose in mind, or some idea of what I want in my head already. If not- takes a lot longer since I have to play around with the idea. I wind up with a lot of 'trash' as a result in those situations.
And for finished pieces... doing good and proper 'final' linework takes me a couple hours. Coloring takes another couple-- if I already have colors in mind. If not- and in the lines, if I have trouble spots at all- it can make it take much longer.
If you wanna improve your speed- practice gesture drawing. A LOT. Doodle a whole crapton of trash for poses, faces, whatever. Don't fuss the details, just scribble and move on. Time yourself and try to get one done as fast as you can without caring about how good it looks. ^.^ Then go back and refine it later.

Lumi, Yakra: Beautiful, as always.
Yakra always makes me think of concept art for Frontier Saga II. Quite the dreamlike quality to it. And I also have to second this:
Nieca, LutaGemmaFreak, forgive me for rudely picking favorites. You guys are quite awesome too. also,
