1) They take up less space than an mp3 2) They are loopable 3) They are played with more respect to how the game/system plays them, encoding into formats such as mp3 is not as true to the sound
I know its probably still the most recent Ys and composers need food too, but I've bought the game and this BGM.bin is really upsetting me by not pouring out its contents for me so I can loop the room outside Napishtim (where Geis is passed out from fatigue after drunkenly fighting whats his name, who even cares, he sucked as a boss and as a character anyways) nonsotp on my computer.
Before I would just load up the save point and leave my tv and ps2 on for months on end, but I don't have a ps2 anymore. I do still have my disc though. I was really really counting on Psound to deliver the goods to me, I've been very disappointed.

You can't get any PSFs out of this game because there aren't any. PSFs are like MIDIs, they don't contain any sound whatsoever, they are played back with a PS2 synthesizer. The music in Ys VI are regular sound files, like mp3 or ogg. I don't know what format they are stored in and it's not important. They are identical to the music on the soundtrack CDs.

You can easily find the Ys6 music by instaling the game and then goinf to the install folder. When you are in the installa folder look inside the folder called "RELEASE". Inside release folder there is another folder called "MUSIC". inside you will find some .ogg files that are musci files. They are alla the musics of the game..or better the most ones. You easily listen to them using a media player like VLC. Bye Bye
