The chances are that if "converting" from 1.1.0.9 to 1.3.0.5 works, it will also work from 1.1.0.9 to 1.2.0.1. Don't worry too much. Yes but it will work ( probably ) since i have two copies of the game: first one is the 1.1.0.9 release and the second is the 1.3.0.5 so i can go deeply into the file organization and create a dedicated patch for every single version. Unfortuntaly i don't have a third copy so i can't create a 1.2.0.1 patch 'till when i'll be able to cjeck the 1.2.0.1 version game files. If someone know where i can buy a 1.2.0.1 version i'll buy it. On the other hand i will have to do some tests with someone of you that has that version. Bye Bye

Making the patch for the latest 1.3.0.5 version wouldn't be a particularly good idea, because that patch only works on the newest, Vista compatible Ys 6 game which came out in late 2006. People who bought (or downloaded) the game before that was released, cannot update to 1.3.0.5. They are stuck with 1.1.0.9 (if they have the very first LE or the collector's pack), or 1.2.0.1 (if they have the green re-release with the new time-attack mode, or the first popular edition). Most people probably have the old versions, from 2003 or 2004, when it was new. I mean, who buys a game five years after it came out? Does ANYBODY on this board even have the Vista version? I personally have five different versions of Ys VI, and none of them are the Vista one. Also, some guy posted a patch which will convert 1.1.0.9 to 1.2.0.1 on this board. It works. This means that probably 90+% of Ys VI owners would be able to use the patch, if it was made for 1.2.0.1. As for the poll... I have version 1.1.0. 8. And 1.2.0.1, but I'm not using that.

Welll..let me explain my ideas. When i thought to translate the game I had the idea to make the patch available for all the major versions: that is to sy for 1.1.0.9, for 1.2.0.1 and for 1.3.0.5. This idea came oout in order to make available the patch for all the poeple who want it. I perosnally have two version of Ys VI..the one 1.0.0.0 ( patched to 1.1.0.9 ) and the latest 1.3.0.5 Vista compatible edition. Now i have to clarify that the so called "Vista compatible edition" works perfectly on Windows Xp. When i siarted hacking the two version ( 1109 and 1305) i saw that they are quite different in their organization. Till now i don't really know how much it will take to make the second patch after finishing the 1109 version. I thought to start with the 1109 since i thought that many people bought that version and maybe that only few ones bought the 1305. From this poll i experinced that many people doesn't have the pc version at alland they will buy the 1305. So... my idea s to finish firstly the 1109 version and then to port the translation to 1305 fastly. I think that one finished the first version i will be able to make the 1305 in very few days. So don't be afraid...you will have the patch for your own personal version The one thing i'm sure is that Falcom did a fucking hell with all theese editions and patches and with all their dx9 executables that are installed only with the patches. Holy crap i think.. BTW, we have only to manage all the work...nothing else

i think the 1305 version is a better choice, for the same reasons of the others ^^

Well, I guess I'll just download another version when the patch comes out, since I'm not about to buy the game again. Anyway, Doppia, my offer to send you the 1.2.0.1 files you need is still valid, if you want.

I had purchased the PS2 version when it originally came out, but had played the original PC version beforehand..and it just didn't feel the same playing it on a console >_>. So thanks for all that you're doing.

I think you should focus on the 1.2.0.2 and the 1.3.0.5. why? because the 1.1.0.9 version is upgradable to 1.2.0.2 (wich is a thing that everyone should do, because it enables the time attack and the difficult selection). and covers the 1.2.0.1 too (wich is upgradable too). and the 1.3.0.5, because it's the lastest release, and the only one that everyone would buy when the patch comes out. they share some files, only difering the exes. with the 1.1.0.9 you should bother with yet another file to patch..
only one more thing: the 1.1.0.9 and the 1.2.0.1/2 works on vista too, you just need to create a folder on your user folder before running the install (on a few systems, at most you even need this). and the 1.3.0.5 works on xp, like it was already said.

I was one of those seven, but in the end I was wrong. My version was not 1.2.0.1.

I'd go for 1.3.0.5, at least everyone gets to upgrade (buy the newer one) and some support Falcom some more!
