Mmm... some ideas here have given me an idea to create a topic. Now, about size in Ys games... The hugest Ys game is Ys II Special. (Unless you'd like to think of Ys Online as the longest Ys. ) Now, I like both Felghana and VI a lot. But for some reasons, I liked Ys VI more. Well, I'll make a topic to talk about this some other time. xD

Gurumin's lack of leveling was indeed a refreshing change of pace, as was Zwei!!'s emphasis on staying low-level as long as you possibly can. Huh? I made Pockle and Pipiro GRIND for food and then made them eat it! >:O Shame on you for making them starve! Well, admittedly a lot of the grinding later on was so I had the required food and food amount to trade in for The Typing of Ys or whatever it was. :3

Ranting of Ys, I must also say: eff you, Nintendo Power. >_< Giving a "Hmmm..." rating to Ys Book I & II! Bastards! I agree with them, its not that great of a game. If it didn't have the soundtrack behind it, the game would have pushed further into obscurity. We see, and talk about Ys every day, whereas the "norm" has ether never heard of it, or remembers it when it first came out. The First wave of Ys book releases are extremely dated, and I find Eternal/Complete to be a better game/package overall. If it was the Complete versions then the review would have been better.

The reviewer made it pretty clear that he hasn't even seen how awesome part II is! =\ Even on the Famicom, Ys II holds its own quite well! That guy deserves to be neutered... just for having an opinion different from my own.

I personally think Ys II is the least fun game in the series (the real series of Ys 1-6). I'm not saying it sucks, though.
And I consider Ys Book 1-2 the worst versions of Ys 1-2 overall. I can't stand the crippled gameplay (one example: you can get immune to boss attacks), and not the music either. I almost have to mute it. Cheesy 80's rock. No thanks. I don't know what the review said, but the guy was probably right. I love Ys 1-2 (despite what I just said about Ys 2), but not these particular versions. 2/5.

Not sure who Seldene is, but he said Seldane..... You can't hide your past from us. I don't think I ever stopped calling you that. Actually does FM-77 stand for?
Back on track, I agree with MR. Broken Identity completely. Ys Book I and II has been redone so well, it rendered its older versions completly obsolete IMO.

FM-77 is a cool computer, sold only in Japan. I think it is somewhat similar to NEC's PC-8801 computer series. ...Eh, this thread is TOTALLY off. xD What's cool about this is... is... I didn't cause it! *sigh* finally. But I AM delivering the final blow. xD Felghana is long enough, yet a bit shorter than Ys VI. And I have no idea about Ys ORIGIN. (Yet Ys ORIGIN seems to have greater replay value, because you have 3 characters.) That's it, seriously. Now, whether you take 5 or 15 hours to beat it once, that depends how much of a game completer you are etcetera.

Can someone tell me how to get to this screen? I guess I went kind of fast. My boss rush times on the other hand... not quite so fast.

You mean to unlock the other difficulties?
If not, then... just beat the game once and then you'll have unlocked the "Time Attack" option, which will present you that screen once you select it.

I have Time Attack, but it only lists the times for bosses, not the times through the regular game.

... True. Sorry. XD
Hmm, well, if my memory serves right, that screen appears wehn you selected "New Game".
I'd try it myself if I had the game installed right now... but if you have it there with you, perhaps you could give that a try...

Yeah it's not there for me. Was this added in the latest patch or something? I don't have very easy or Inferno either.

Ah, that can explain things. You should have at least "Very Easy". Well, since you don't have it, I think it's safe to also assume you don't have the english patch installed either. The latest YsF patch from Falcom adds the "Very Easy" difficulty (and "Inferno" as an unlockable). That same patch is automatically installed when you're installing the game's english patch. Perhaps that feature was also added only in that patch. Try installing it.

Actually, I think the Falcom patch is no longer automatically installed when running Nightwolve and Deuce's patch. If I'm not mistaken, Falcom changed the links to the "Very Easy" patch a while ago, and so Nightwolve's patcher may not be able to access the proper URL anymore (unless he finally updated that when he released the beta patch to the public). Here's a link to the patch, if you still need it.

I do, I installed the English patch when it was new, and I just never uninstalled the game from my harddrive. Where can I find Falcoms newest patch? Or should I just run the English patch again?

Check the post above yours for the link to the patch, if you're still searching for it.
