So I never knew that they have done remakes of some of the Ys games. And I really enjoy them a lot. What sites are ligit to use to get myself a copy of the game so I don't get screwed?

That's cool. I appreciate the help. My only problem is, I can't read Japanese. I read the thread as well. And I live in the US. So I'm assuming shipping would have additional charges. And I don't know how to calculate Yen to American dollars.

Hmmm... well...
I don't import many games myself, so I can't help you. =(
But I think if you check that thread carefully you might find the answers you seek. Or rather, you could even ask there what you might need to do in case you don't figure it out after reading.

Mini nova? Or buy it from Falcom. It will cost 100 dollars, or more if you get to pay the evil customs charges as well.

Just write to Falcom asking how much it would be. They'll reply in a spotless engrish, and then you can check some site to convert yens to dollars.

I'd really love it if one day people started to realise that Falcom don't distribute their games as torrents :/

That'd be wonderful. It's no wonder the industry shuns us fans -- too many of us still enjoy the experience without spending a penny on some of the finest gaming experiences ever to have been had.
This reminds me, I still need to get Romancia. X)

I would invest in more Falcom stuff, if they had a proper store to order from. Emailing asking for items is how my grandma used to order Avon. Falcom needs to get that they have fans in other countries, and should maybe acknowledge their existence.
I have only ever purchased Falcom games from Ebay, or a local game shop. I would never thing to go to the source.

Old school gaming is super awesome and pick-up-and-play-ey (which means: simple, easy, always fun). Old school ordering is NOT simple, easy, or super awesome (and never fun!). So it's not just like that.

Seriously though, I'm not quite sure why Falcom can't do an extra page with a form that's in (broken) English. It'd be a heck of a lot safer than sending e-mails, I'd think. :/ They no love us cuz we don't live in Japan. ;o;

To be fair, what other Japanese company even offers any kind of international ordering? Sega don't, Capcom don't, Konami don't, Mars16 don't, Enterbrain don't...
So even though the Falcom solution is less than ideal it's still better than pretty much anyone else.

True, but those companies listed have games on almost every shop online. Its easy to track down most of their titles, while some of Falcoms stuff can be a pain in the ass. I get what you are saying, as no one goes to Squenix for games, but to EB. Its not how the system works, but on the other hand, hire some dude to make a mock ordering page, stick some crappy English in some of the fields, and I guarantee you they will have more orders.

Ah, did the TC come and go? I've actually got two copies of Oath in Felghana -- one popular edition, one special edition -- and I probably should part with one of them... I just can't figure out which one. Popular edition fits well on the shelf with the others, special edition has cool stuff.
