So a while back I was psyched because I finally managed to get the X68000 version of Wanderers running... but when I get to the first large mine shaft, there's a great big wall of GLITCH standing in my way. Anyone else encountered this?

... Damn. I'm sorry for the late reply, but anyway. I was playing that version today and I encountered the same glitch. That reminded me that someone else talked about it before and here I am... That's what you ran into as well, correct? Damn wall of glitch. xD Well, it's either: - The ROM; - The Emulator; - Both. I'm not sure about what we can do to overcome this problem. =/

Hooray! Also: interesting! the game's first boss music is one of those "unused" Ys III songs. It's there... so that explains a lot. Anyway, I hope Copyrighted Name sees this eventually.

Hey MP, did you figure out how to change the difficulty settings? I KNOW it can be changed like the MSX2 version, because in the Status Menu, there's that "RANK NORMAL" thingy. Do you have any ideas how to change it? And if to change it is exactly like it is in the MSX2 version, then how is it done in the MSX2 version?

Have you tried making a save state on the good version of the game past that point, and then trying to load it back into the walled version? I'm just curious how far that wall actually goes, and it seems you should be able to sneak by it using save states.

Awesome picture MP. xD Also thanks for the difficulty changing info... even though we don't know how to change it yet. Anyway, I just finished the game (on Normal... ugh =/). It's a good version of Ys III. But man, I wish I knew how to change the difficulty level...

Even if you wait for a while he won't appear?? That's strange, and this time we know it's not the ROM, for we have the same one. I have an idea. Send me a Frozen State file from a few rooms before the boss room. I'll then use it, and then I'll create 2 Frozen State files for you: - One right after the boss pops up before me and; - Another right after the boss was killed and his item obtained (because the former Frozen State might not solve the matter, but this one would definitely solve it).

Red Hairdo reportin' in, for those who may be curious. MP83 found something in the internetz. Right when loading the game, something must be done to access this. The question is: what? Or how in hell? I have faith in MP83.

Now two people will play through this game again, on Hard. (Galbalan was SO hard on Normal in this version, I'm afraid of how impossible this guy will be now. xD) Everyone should play the arguably best version of the classical Ys III!!

Everyone should play the arguably best version of the classical Ys III!! I really want to now, but it and my Japanese PS2 are back at my camp.

Yes, yes, but that's why I said the classical version! I meant the PS2 version is too different to be called that way. ================================================= Anyway! I have something important to say in this post "on behalf of" MP83. It concerns changing the difficulty setting. Click here to download 3 different User Disks. (Courtesy of MP83.) They save you A LOT of trouble. For DRIVE 1 you have to insert the Data 1 Disk. Now for DRIVE 0 you have to insert one of these 3 User Disks. Each User Disk was formated in a way that would work only in their respective difficulty settings. For some reason, you can use only one kind of User Disk per difficulty, so you can have 3 User Disks in total for this game, because there are 3 difficulty settings (Easy, Normal and Hard). Alternately, you can also do it all the hard way. (For the most curious ones, I wrote how to do it step-by-step below, manually). Once you press and hold down the F10 key with the Scenario Disk inserted in DRIVE 0 and the Data 1 Disk inserted in DRIVE 1, you'll be taken to the difficulty selecting menu. Now here is the thing. This game has a 4th disk which is the User Disk. The problem is that once you start playing this game and use a given User Disk to save your progress, that very User Disk will only be able to be used in the difficulty setting you were playing in. For example, if you started the game on Normal and saved the game, that User Disk will only be able to be used for Normal Mode. Now, for DRIVE 1 you have to insert a blank User Disk (in which you can easily create by typing ANY name in the emulator's screen for loading game disks). Now highlight the desired difficulty setting and press Enter TWICE. Wait for a while, for the User Disk is actually becoming one to be used exclusively for the given difficulty setting. You'll hear a "Level Up" sound. Now, put that User Disk in DRIVE 0 and the Data 1 Disk in DRIVE 1. Then reset the emulator. TA-DA!xD This stuff is so tricky and obscure. =o Also you don't have to do all that manually anyway, but still! Now you know how to access that menu, and doing so you can listen to "Dancing on the Road" all day! ================================================= By the way, note that if you have any saved data on your User Disk, after the hallway intro your latest save file will be automatically loaded. (However, if you only use Save States, that will never happen. =p)

If this is the same one uploaded earlier in the thread, you can actually boot the game up with any disk, but when you leave for the Tigray Quarry it will prompt you to change disks.

To start the game, yes, but to go to the Mode Selection Screen, you have to start up the emulator with the right disks in the right drives. Anyway, have you played any of it since then? Beware the lava pit boss, because sometimes he may not appear for unknown reasons and if that happens, you have to restart the game from zero.

No, I had trouble figuring out the shops, so I kinda just run through the quarry Naked to see the Wall Glitch. Which was actually pretty hard. Before I actually sit down and play it, I'm going to fire up the Genesis version to get used to the shop menu's.
