When seeing movies with my mom and little brother, who is 4 to my 22, choices tend to be a bit limited, so it always offers me a chance to see the lighthearted things I otherwise probably wouldn't. So I saw G-Force with them this weekend, haha. It was alright. There are certainly better family type flicks out there, but it wasn't terrible. I don't have a whole lot else to say about it.

Oh wow. Forgot to report that I watched some movies while going to and from Seattle!
Shrek Forever After: Not as dreadful as everyone makes it out to be! It has its moments. Little Shrek babies are creepy though. @_@
The Last Airbender: I really wonder what it's like to watch this without any knowledge of the show? Being someone that's seen the entire Avatar series, I understood everything fine although I can see pacing issues and no time to allow the audience to warm up to the characters. :P
The kid that plays Aang can't really act but everyone else is okei. Well, Zuko was eternally pissed off. Then again, I think he was like that for most of the early seasons in the cartoon.
Sokka's lack of humour was all right since he was just another person on the screen that made no real impression. XD
And why the hell did they change the pronunciation to Sokka, Iroh, and Aang? >_>
Oh yeah, I didn't puke from watching the flim.
Iron Man 2: I actually didn't finish this. I think I had 19 minutes left (including credits). I probably could have but I had the movie on pause for the longest time since I didn't want to have to take off the earbuds and get up again as the person at the window seat would be coming back. Odd thing was, she was in the washroom for AT LEAST 10 minutes -- and this was after waiting for several minutes too. WTF?
Anyway, I didn't think much about this movie. No love, no hate. It gets an :| from me.

Finally had enough time to watch this movie I had recorded ages ago.. High and Low (天国と地獄) Well, It has been some days since I watched it, but I liked it I wonder when I ll have time to watch rest of the movies I have recorded.. Odd title in English, literally translated I would have preferred more though seeing it always makes me feel a bit sad..

Another weekend with mother and brother. We went to go see Alpha and Omega. It wasn't anything to write home about. Pretty basic plot, didnd't really care about the characters much. It was cute enough, I won't lie about that. I just didn't care all that much for it, I usppose. I think it was just the visual presentation that got to me.
As much as I like Pixar, I do not like what they've started. I'm getting kinda tired of all these 3d films coming out and how it's so effectively replaced other forms of animation. I honestly think I might have liked this particular movie more if it were drawn.
Dear animators, A an animated film does not have to be 3D to be good or sell well.
Thanks.

I just saw The Orphanage (El Orfanato). That was, quite simply, amazing. Beautiful, ugly, depressing, heartwarming, terrifying, comforting. Simply put: Wow.

Just saw Exception. It was inceptional. Is it on DVD already, or did you see a late screening? Inception and Machete are the 2 movies I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Yup, saw like the final screening possible. It was great!
I just saw Punisher Warzone. I don't care what people say, it was awesome. Ray Stevenson is a way better Frank Castle than Thom Jane, and it doesn't have the ultimo-crap opening/family reunion of doom. It's probs not made as well, but it does have some supremo action sequences.
So that means I've seen all the post-2000 Punisher films, and I heard the 80s one sucks, so I might not even bother, unless the opportunity really presents itself. Punisher is THE man.

Charlie St. Cloud, movie brought tears to my eyes several times and even watched it twice within a week.
I would so totally turn gay for Zac Efron.

I saw Kick-Ass for the first time yesterday, with the little bro. It was pretty awesome, maybe even better than The Dark Knight.

Starting to wonder if perhaps DreamWorks is a studio that might begin to rival Pixar. They have work to do, but How to Train Your Dragon being as excellent as it was, followed by Megamind which was actually pretty damn funny, they've certainly gained more respect from me. Curious as to what their next non-sequel move is!
Read: I saw Megamind recently and it was pretty damn funny.

I've always found Shrek to be positive garbage, including the first. I'm interested in How To Train Your Dragon, if only for the score and the vikings.

Not in the sense that it wholeheartedly embraces them and their formulas.
Plus, just because I dislike one thing doesn't mean I particularly enjoy deconstructions of it.

But I dunno what else it was with Shrek... I don't like a lot of stuff, so no hard feelings. I actually used to get some laughs out of a few moments in the first and one moment once in the second, but upon seeing them again that was no longer true.

I can personally never tell Dreamworks and Pixar apart. It's all the same to me. I typically avoid animated/CG family movies. Hell, I typcially avoid family movies. But some of them I DO like if I happen to see them. My last roommate was into those types of films, as was my former fiancee. So I've seen them incidentally (by shrapnel). The Shreks I acutally enjoyed; same with Ice Age. But I wouldn't watch them again, and I'll never seek out their ilk.
