I bought all four Resident Evil Movies and watched the first two a few days ago. I have never heard anything good about them, but I thought they were awesome! They were exactly what I was hoping they would be. If there were ever a Metroid movie, it would be cool for Milla Jovovich to play the role of Samus.

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, for the first time in 8 years.
... there are no words. I should watch What's Up, Tiger Lily? next.

Yup, GMF, I'm quite a fan of the first two. I haven't seen the others, however.

I'm in the same boat as you, Smithee. I enjoyed the first and the second is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I have yet to see the third or fourth movies. I want to see the fourth though, because >Wesker throwing shades at my face

Saw Ikiru. Kurosawa, so naturally it was good. And Takashi Shimura is always great. Not my usual genre though, so I won't be rewatching it multiple times like Seven Samurai, Ran, or Yojimbo. I like my movies with swords! *Freud enters, shakes his head, leaves*
It did at times feel like more of a social polemic than a character piece, and while the film's criticisms of bureaucracy were dead on, *slandered a commy by America for not being behind Democracy* I'm not a big fan of propaganda. It's actually the reason I stopped watching Family Guy.

I looked at it more as exploring life through death. The bureaucracy was directly about him not completing and moving in his life, and the politics matched the people's stagnance in life.

Yeah, I just felt the focus on the political aspect was a bit exaggerated at times in the latter half of the movie. Even if it was a vehicle for exploring the stagnation of those with no purpose, it seemed too contrasted with the personal aspects of the first half. . . . . . but as I'm sure you know, I'm a bit overly analytical/critical on both my halves. I did like the main theme, as I've often said that everybody should have a near-life experience at least once. Even those who think life is just about enjoying the moment (the vast majority) tend to feel regret when faced with mortality. Life is like an awesome wife; most people take it for granted and don't realize what they have till it's leaving them.

What was your favourite part?

Ya know, I can honestly say I can't think of a favorite part. Guess that's what makes it such a great movie.
Though the part where he assualts people with gardening tools does stand out a bit in my mind, if only because it was a humorous bit of satire thrown into all the overthetop violence.

Black Swan.
I'd like to think I fully grasp what exactly happened there, but the ending just doesn't make any goddamn sense. It literally defies logic.

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade.
Written by Mamoru Oshii, and produced by Production I.G. so natrually it was good. It was really slow on occasion, especially the beginning, but overall I liked it. It had a good political story as background to the emotional humanisms that fueled it.
Gonna have to look into Oshii's Kerberos Saga someday.

I was really interested in watching it, but I decided not to for some reason. If it is really political it might have been a good choice...

I watched The Fugitive with Harrison Ford, because when that movie comes on TV, you have to watch it.

Just saw Unbreakable. Really tense at times, and amazing direction. Bleak, bleak film. And a great deconstruction of the super hero genre. Bueno!

The Town. Best heist movie I've seen in a long time. And I love me some crime filicks.
