If you prefer reading in chinese, a Chinese version does exist. Its like 20$ for a copy on Play-asia.

It should be in 100% chinese, because from what I heard the LOH 6 was in 100% chinese. Besides the chinese always translated game no problem. There's even a 100% translation patch for Fire Emblem 5 that was made within a month.

Is it because the character sets are basically the same, so its just a manner or "rewording" the text, right?

The Kanji are about 60% the same as in chinese character, but a lot of sentences that doesn't flow well when translated to english still happens to work pretty ok in chinese.
And Justin if you watching popular anime, a Chinese sub of the episode will be done after 3-5 hours after its broadcast live. (This happens like 100% of the time with animes like Gundam and Macross F)

You can find a cool Ys Origin walkthrough ( along with other cool tutorials) on Gillian Seed's website. Here is the link: gillianseed.free.fr/faqs.htmlAnyway.. The Chinese Ys Origin version is perfectly translate. Two versions exists: one in simplifies chinese and one in traditional english. Both are edit by Tyhoon games that was licensed by Falcom. The weird thing is thet the chinese version was not updated. So the really existin' version is the 1.00 version since no patch updates where released by Typhoon. I hope It will help you. Bye
