This is pretty much a question for all Ys PC games, but I'm playing Felghana currently..
Is there any place in the settings where you can set your own custom resolution for the game? I've been playing them with my PS3 controller, and to make it feel more enjoyable I'd love to sit back and play the games on my HDTV in 1920x1080 resolution.
I've skimmed through registry under all the Falcom trees, and looked in the Falcom folder in My Documents and didn't see anything about resolutions.

Howdy I also play on my 1080p TV. From what I've seen, if a resolution is not in your game's config app. pulldown menu, it's not available (that is if your Windows side is setup correctly). For example, if I play on my 1280 x 1024 monitor, the game's config. app. limits me to 1280 x 1024 because of the monitor Windows detected. If I play on the TV, a bunch more resolutions become available (I'm pretty sure 1920 x 1080 is there, but for some reason my picture was getting cropped so I changed to something else). I'm using an XFX Nvidia 9500 GT running Nvidia's config app. in the tool tray. I can't recall exact details, but if my memory serves me right, Ys Complete is far below 1080p (it's all sprites, not polygons, like the later ones) and Ys Origin didn't suffer the cropping effect I had experienced w/ YsF (may just be my TV). -ud

Pretty sure the more recent games (Ys 6 onwards) just take the resolutions from Windows, which in turn obtains the available resolutions from the display's EDID. I don't know how nicely HDTVs play in that regard, especially non-LCD ones.
Worse comes to worse, take a spin with the free trial of PowerStrip (30 USD to buy if you want to keep it) and force a custom resolution of 1920x1080 and see if that does the trick.

Woo! Thanks for the help guys. Reason it wasn't showing up is because I have Dualview, and the HDTV wasn't set as the primary monitor. Switched it to primary and 1920x1080 shows up .
