Undamned, check this link out if you would like to get some further descriptions of many of the published books for Ys, including novelizations of the games and manga. www.falcom.co.jp/licence/product/01_e.htmlI believe if I'm not mistaken, image #1 and image #3 are the novels of Ys, which may or may not have some nice artwork in there every few pages. A lot of novelizations of games that I've seen (especially for Genso Suikoden and Xak III) have some very nice illustrations in there, but I'm uncertain about the novels for Ys. I'd love to get a hold of the Anthology / All-Stars Futatabi that Wyrd is referring to. Even the Falcom site says it's one hell of a book for Ys enthusiasts. : ) As far as Doujinshi's go though, some of them tend to be quite rare and I managed to get into a bid war for the first two of these on Yahoo Japan. But fortunately I arose victorious in the end. It would have sucked to get one without the other considering they are done by the same artist. The other one is an Ys Origin one that may or may not be so great. They currently have it up on Yahoo auctions now for 1000 yen, so it's not all that hard to find. Here are the images that the auction provided before I bid on them. I'll have to wait a bit more for them to arrive by mail along with several other Falcom treasures. : ) The plan though is to eventually offer full scans of this on the new AARPG site I'm in the process of creating at the moment and it would be wonderful to possibly scanlate them into English one of these days, although I would need to find a translator who would be willing to do that. I'm still hoping to get the entirety of the Xak Manga translated one day as well. I've scanned it all at least, which took forever since it is about 130 pages long! [Another] Xak Manga Section-Thomas

This website has pretty good list of Ys manga/doujinshi. www2.jan.ne.jp/~psyzans/Kura/Kuramenu.htmlMy favorite among them is Lilia depicted as a crazy hammer girl. It has some other stuff regarding Ys and other games as well.

Fixed. The site must not have supported hotlinking.

Nice site Hellsassassin! They've collected a lot of images. I think there there's also a thread here that Seldane/FM-77 posted some larger screenshots as well. Also, gotta love the random Berserk crying behelet that the Korean site has used to break up the screenshots. : )
Hehe, yeah, those games look like TOTAL ripoffs, especially AIZA, but oddly enough I still desperately want to try them out! : ) Already searched Yahoo Auctions for them too and no dice.
Kinda funny though, with enough imagination, "Old Village Story" could be be about Adol after he grows old and enters some kind of Official position working for the army and has grown a 'stache. Look at him all surprised that Lilia (with hair tied in a bun) has shown him that he is now a father and his adventuring days are over! : ) *laughs* And that folk's is how Adol's world adventures just become some "Old Village Story". Perfect!

OM freaking G I have to find those games. It's like when you were a kid and you went into the gas station and they had the little toy rack and found a pack of "Mutant Men" from China, and it was obviously X-Men..... who made these games?

Dungeons in that game are quite mindbreaking.

Ah, so it's not quite that random then. Excellent choice of material though for indicating "dispair". I like Berserk.
