Has anyone specifically tried that version of the game? That's the one that works flawlessly for me on 4 different macs under 7.2(haven't tested 8.0 yet). It may simply be it's a fluke that that version works flawlessly, if it doesn't work for others than I'm going to have to start accepting that I am the Chosen one of Ys, with my goddess given super-power being able to run Falcom games on any OS. What a shitty super-power. Also...in getting that to work I don't adjust ANY settings at all(except to window it, but thats optional, it'll run fullscreen just fine).

Yeah, that's the version I'm using as well. The vista popular edition. I went ahead and took a photo of all the games I've tried to get to work on both Cross Over 7.1 and Cross Over Games 7.2. I'd be satisfied enough if I could at least get Xanadu Next to work correctly. I even submitted it as a game to be looked into at the Cross Over forums. That Xanadu Next version is the LE DVD version. Kinda hard to tell from just looking at the box. Edit: Would making a bottle distribution with the pro version of Cross Over make any difference you think? If it is something as simple as that, I'd chip in to help you upgrade to the pro version sometime if you don't already have the pro version. -Thomas

Actually I get crossover for free as long as I submit a compatability test for Ys complete every-time they release a new major version(7.1->7.2 for instance), so it doesn't cost me anything.
Also that version you have isn't the same, mine isn't the vista popular edition, but the original one(as you can see mine doesn't have the vista logo).
That *is* the version of Xanadu Next I have though and works fine.
Honestly I'm at a loss, with my exact Ys complete version, it works flawlessly on now 5 different types of Macs... If Adoru has the *exact* same version as me, then my only guess is maybe there's some code differences between different print runs of the same edition(which isn't uncommon), and it's only copies from a specific run that work without any tweaking...cause I'm not tweaking anything.

Yeah, that's the only version of Ys I & II Complete that I currently own. I guess I assumed that it contained the only XP version as well as the new Vista version since it is compatible on both OS types. I do have the older boxed versions of Ys I Eternal and Ys II Eternal though, but I'm guessing that wouldn't do me much good in the translation department. *laughs*
Well, if the Xanadu Next version is the same at least, is there any chance you would be willing to make a bottle distribution of that particular version. I'm willing to try anything at this point.
