I think it'll be sort of neat if we could share our own findings on board-related bargains on the Web. Selected manga titles at 90% off US cover price at BookCloseouts.com!! Ends March 26th~! Spotted this and thought that some folks might be able to benefit from it! I couldn't find anything I wanted though. :P

GAH! Is this for the 2000/3000 series or is it compatible with my 1000 series PSP?!If it closes over the USB port, I don't want it. Reason I'm considering this, is because I plan on using my PSP as a home console using RemoteJoyLite, and sending the picture to my TV with an S-Video to Composite Cable, while controlling all of the action with my PS2 Controller. Point being, I want to protect my PSP while it's being used as a home console.

I assume it's this one cuz I can't get the damn YesAsia page to load so I had to Google~ www.ncsx.com/2007/121707/face_cover_portable_2.htmOh, from squinting, I believe the little text at the top right of the packaging reads that it's compatible with the 1000 and 2000 series. (And the "new" and "old" kanjis kind of give it away too. ^^)

Ah! I see! Thank you! D: Gah, can't get free shipping on less than $39... and since they don't have piano black to match my PSP, (and light blue clashes like hell) I suppose I'll forfeit for now.

Dur, found about this one today thanks to a friend. www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/news/individual/?ForumThreadName=FT0000000902&ReturnTo=Main"Now that the tax season is over, it’s time to spring ahead with a BANG! From now through May 4, 2009, we’ve slashed the prices on a significant portion of the items in the infamous Right Stuf Bargain Bin! The “your price” listed is the price you pay – no coupon code required – and these new prices represent a savings of up to 95% OFF the MSRP off each item."

Is that a good idea?! Will that work, Darus?!

It might, it's still a relatively new game and it retails between $30-35 new. So you might be able to make a $10 profit on each of them like Darus said. : )

Actually I plan to hold them for a few years.
Historically there has been practically no Atlus games released in over 10 years that have not gone above their MSRP value for sealed copies, so in 5-7 years I can get closer to $50 for them, which is well above any similar investments I could make with that money. Plus Atlus has started doing these "boxed" games for the first print run of their games lately, which increases the later collectors value dramatically.
I'm an amateur professional, don't try this at home >.>/ This really only works for me because I make decent money already and can afford to sit on things for a decade waiting for them to appreciate...I tend to think very long-term about money ;0

I dunno if that would work for Ys though. It doesn't have the best reputation, and there are better ports of the same game. Plus if Atlus localized the PSP version, it'll pretty much be redundant, with the only thing going for it is its slightly fancy packaging. I doubt you'd lose any money in the long run though, at least.
Now, Shin Megami Tensei games, THAT'S where the investment action is at.

Reputation is irrelivent, infact it has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual games, many Atlus games are flat out bad...but they release in such limited quantities that they all become collectibes with enough time. Seriously, there hasnt been a single game that has not increased in value over the long-term, the value in them is not the content...so a PSP version just means another version that will go with the same value trend.
Plus when it comes to game-play I just buy the games and leave them new and sealed and then just play the rom/download the ISO so I don't have to open them, which greatly increases long-term value.
So yeah, has nothing to do with Ys and everything to do with the "Atlus" logo in the corner.

Metal Saga. You can still find it new for $10 anywhere. Also, Disgaea, but that's been reprinted several times.
Also...for a long time, Steambot Chronicles. Althought that might potentially go up in price, maybe.
All I'm saying is, it's not 100% for Atlus titles. I think Etrian Odyssey will keep its value in the long long time, ditto The Dark Spire and MAYBE Izuna. But the game's cult following and its reputation amongst them plays a HUGE part.
For example, it's not Atlus, but let's take Suikoden. People will pay money for 1 and 2, and probably 3 and 5 in the future. But 4 or Tactics? Probably not so much. It's not so much the name brand as what's tied in with the name brand.

Metal Saga has been out...3 years...I'm talking decade+ here...and disgaea isn't an atlus game, and it's 100% until proven otherwise, and so far it hasn't occured. There's no Atlus SNES/PS1/early PS2 game that isn't worth more than MSRP sealed, or at least past it's curve point(the point where you can buy it at a discount late in it's life but before it increases in value).

Are there actually people out there that would pay $50+ for ANY type of copy of Virtual Hydlide?
