Something I noticed from a quick perusal from a few people's profiles and just from random discussion in general is that most of our ALoY members seem to be along in years a bit.
I'm noticing that a large number of you are in their mid-twenties or along that range. It's quite funny because I'm usually in the upper percentile of age in most other forums I go to, though that's been drastically reduced this time around, lol
So me and my insignificant 19 years of age are just curious as to how old some of you guys are. I'll be 20 next month if that accounts for anything though. ;p
Tough I'm the forum baby, I would like to think I pass off as quite mature. I already been through and experienced alot of stuff most people don't go trough for years to come yet. Though in my case, this leads to unnecessary stress and isn't a good thing. :/

Yeah, I think that makes many of you so easy to approach. I never would have guessed you guys to be the ages you are without looking, haha. Though seeing how Ys is an older series, it's only natural the fans will be older themselves. I got started late, curse me and my diapers and poopies.

Don't worry, Dr Rockso, we still love you. Even if you are a know-nothin' yoof what don't know how good ya gots it.
And yeah, age really isn't that important in nerd subculture; insomuch as we tend to look back to past stuff as much as present. So there's not so much generational strife.

You guys are pretty cool peoples. I'm glad I stumbled onto this site (on accident, mind you)
Yeah, I didn't think age would be an issue, I just find it pretty interesting how such a wide range of age groups can co-mingle as one. Though I feel I coulda used my age to better advantage, (Many people my age are already well into college while I'm just starting due to monetary problems.) things are just now starting to look up for me and I plan on living it to its fullest.
Yeah, I'm still in my honeymoon phase with Julie, haha. You may have to put up with a sappy Dr Rockso for a while. >_>
(Absolutely off-topic, but if anyone has ever heard of Blind Guardian, the ending of their song "Battlefield" seems to contain part of "Crossroad of Sadness" from Ys I in it. This may be speculation, but it is an interesting find nonetheless!)

I... love Blind Guardian... I need to check to see if this is true though, although I highly doubt it is actually that. Still, nice find!
Oh, and I'm probably the baby, being barely 15.

I'll be 22 in June. Scary, given I haven't gone to college (meh... reading... dyslexia...) and I haven't held any job for longer than 6 months. My mental age is... well, somewhere around 17 -- I don't feel like an adult, and if it's any consolation, I hardly look like one either.

Oh yeah, I knew it was just coincidence, but I still found it quite interesting. I was listening to the song for the first time in a while and something kept nagging at me that the end sounded somewhat familiar. So I listen to the Ys I soundtrack and bam! I'm so lame....

Drawing similarities like that isn't all that uncommon! I think... my friend showed me this solo album by one of his net-buddies, Shnabubula (if anyone here follows the vg remixing scene), and I immediately thought one of the songs sounded just like an Ayreon song. :P He didn't hear it, but it TOTALLY DID damnit!
You're not TOO much younger than me, btw. I'm 20 now, 21 in the end of July. The age I act differs with present company, haha. Regardless, nerd union, woo! I've always loved... well, more niche gaming communities for that reason. :D

I think the different ages all bring a certain amount of experience that the younger ones dont have, and thats something that is well respected, at least by me, who is 19. So if anyone is older then me, I generally show a lot of respect for them. Thats what makes forums so unique and diverse ^_^

Blind Guardian has a song about Elric, and I'm a fan of albinocore.

AYREON WOOOOO!!! I forget if this ever came up between us before, but if not, yeah... I'm a huuuuge Ayreon fan. -Tom It didn't, but woooo! Everything Ayreon is AWESOME. Oh man, so check out this album. The song Beee Ayyyy... I can't NOT think about the lead melody of The Shooting Company of Captain Frans b. Cocq when I hear it! Edit: you probably want the link www.iimusic.net/catalog/2008/02/controller-1Your post just prompted me to check for any news concerning Ayreon and such... and omg new project announced in february. "Guilt Machine" woah! Yet another thing to look forward to! This year is gonna be so freaking awesome what with a slew of Devin Townsend releases, a new Pain of Salvation album and the new Dream Theater. 761^(900megafonzies) bonus cool points for anyone who likes Pain of Salvation, btw. Easily my favorite band. Ever!

I'll be 31 this year, but age still means nothing to me right now. I still feel like a teen.

Redundant thread is redundant? Do we care? Probably not. Anywayzee~ 26 here. 27 in the coming summer, and whee. Somehow I feel LESS mature (by comparison) than I did when I was 19. Probably boils down to being old enough to realize how immature I actually am now. XD ...if that made any lick of sense. Hah! Also, Blind Guardian = YAY. Took me a few years, plus the efforts of Ashurei and Cyhirae BOTH to get to like them, but now I lurves. <3

Yeah, you aren't the baby member here koa. xD As for me, I turned 19 two months ago. I bet that eventually, I'll be one cool 60-year-old who still will be playing stuff.

Thanks. xDD But it's no big deal, actually. I mean, I think I'll pretty much remain how I am today when I turn 25, 30 or maybe even 40 and so on.

Meh, age is truly just a number. It all depends on how you look at life and deal with it. Most people look at me and say I never look or act my age....so thats a GOOD thing! lol
