Been listening to arrangements of the Tales Of... battle songs, from the Battle Arrangement, and yup, I still love Sakuraba.

Sakuraba is incredible! So I hear. I... erm... just "acquired" this soundtrack for sampling. And methinks I need to buy it... now. Absolutely *outstanding* music all around. -Tom Yay!

Here are a couple of my favorites from a relatively obscure SFC title known as Mystic Ark. Some claim the game is a successor of sorts to The 7th Saga, a notoriously difficult RPG for the SNES (well, the American version, at least - I heard the Japanese version is supposedly easier). Unfortunately, Mystic Ark doesn't have a fully working translation patch (a lot of problems re-inserting the text, or something). It seems to be a game about restoring messed up fairy tales or something, at least as near as I can tell (I understand very little Japanese =p).
Here's one of the normal battle themes, I believe:
One of the boss themes:
The final boss theme, I think (starts at about 1:30):
Listening to this music makes me want to replay the game again. But I'd also like to understand what the heck's going on this time around (despite that, I somehow managed to complete the game a few years ago). Hmm...

Hmmm, I liked how these 3 sound! The second one kind of reminded me of Ys IV MotS for some reason, even.

Funny you should mention that. Listening to the first one a bit more, it also sounds Ys-ish, at least in my opinion.
But you know, I think that's only one of the normal battle themes; same with the boss theme. If I'm remembering correctly (and knowing me, that's a 50/50 chance =p), I believe different battle themes play depending on what type of area you're in.

Well that's a lot better than the crap in the first couple of trailers. Nice. Still not remotely interested in the game, though.

Overall the Snow Battle theme is my favourite in Muramasa .
Now let see if I can finish Shigurui with Momohime. Never even bother trying this mode back with the Japanese version.

Of course, it defintaly one of my favourite series, I rank them higher then the average final fantasy. Too bad the 20 th anivesary OST cost a fortune or else I will take it already.

Ah, Golden Sun, how I love thee! Motoi Sakuraba is easily the 4th best thing about VGM!
It's funny how my first exposure to Falcom was actually through Setyll's Top 100 RPG Battle Theme list on YouTube. I clicked straight on Number 1 - which was Silver Will, Golden Wings arranged by Jindo. Awesome awesome first Falcom experience.

Oooh, I had no idea the music was so good for that game. Not only do I have new listening goodies now, but I am also more intrigued about Etrian Odyssey as a whole. I see it all the time, but never really feel like putting out the cash for it. This is definitely points in favor, though.
Maybe someday!
