The gameplay really didn't seem that bad. Dawn of Mana honestly seemed like one of the best entries in the series for a long time. Not that it could compare to the earlier ones... but still, it didn't seem terrible in any way. -Tom I should hug you for that statement. XD I really loved Dawn of Mana, and while I can understand why a lot of people didn't like it, I thought it did reclaim a lot of the spirit the series had lost over the years. It's so very hard to convince people of this, though, since the gameplay flaws kill them so utterly on the whole deal. ;_; I also liked it a lot better than Seiken Densetsu 3.Back to the music, for all that I have nothing to post at present.

I try to play SD4 but I just can't like it. The first time I play I gave up on chapter 1. Second run I went to Chapter 4 and still can't find the urge to finish it. But the Music really kept me in. And most of all the amount of nostagia the game has.

Yes, the story is fantastic, and it really sets up the series events well. The ending was pretty moving too, which was really unexpected. I finished the game in 3 devote sit downs, and were it not for the SD series backdrop, I probably would have put it down. I am an extreme traditionalist when it comes to my games, and SD 4 does not fit in well with the previous 3 installments. That's not saying its a poor game, but I felt that kind of play style should have been left for a side game. Children of Mana felt more like a traditional SD game than Dawn did. Ether way I enjoyed them both, and I still have Heroes to run through.

Nice picks man. Lufia has some great tunes indeed, and I really need to grab that 1/2 ost combo.
Today I think I'm going to throw one out that is a little more well known than some of the others. FF tunes are always great, which is probably why they are so popular (Duuuur). Anywho, FF9 has a great one, and I don't think its been posted yet, so here it is. Enjoy:

This belongs to a Korean MMORPG that I usually play once in a while. I think the game has some great overworld themes.
There's another awesome track for night time, but I can't find the song because its written in Korean.

Nothing will ever be more fitting for the "YOU HAVING AN ADVENTURE" power of this song.

Alundra - The Wind That Shook the Earth. Immortal overworld music, an absolute classic.

I've been wanting to reclaim Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future for a while now. It's real cheap on Amazon, thankfully. I hope eventually, they'll get the rights back and a true Ecco 3 will be made! (Jr. doesn't count, and neither does Defender of the Future; they're both spinoffs, as far as I'm concerned.) Afterall, there has to be SOME use for the unique password you get at the end of The Tides of Time; they wanted to implement it somehow in Ecco 3!

If I know you this well... could it only be Wizardry? And yes, Defender of the Future (the only Tim Follin Ecco OST) is awesome. The game itself... is kinda meh, but it has some kind of appeal, some kind of cult status. I can't figure out why for the life of me, as it's easily the worst of the 4 Ecco games in existence, including Jr. and the two *real, official* Ecco games for the Sega Genesis. Defender of the Future wasn't even written by, programmed by, or otherwise envisioned by the original people, and has absolutely no real relation to the original games. I can only imagine what the true Ecco 3 would be like... *drools*

I'm sorry, I meant Solstice! I don't know why I said Wizardry, haha! // It's disappointing to see that Tim Follin has retired from video game music.

According to wiki, he'd probably have to be paid a LOT, because one of his complaints was that he wasn't getting paid enough and it was somehow bad for his health. Try to figure that one out, lol.

Nice! I didn't know Solstice had a sequel! The music is very relaxing!

And there's NO up/down/left/right in the sequel, which means you're still stuck going only diagonally... I have to wonder if I emulated them, if I could somehow make it only accept diagonal controller inputs. I mean, that WOULD make sense. Otherwise, I'm still not giving isometrics much of a chance. I MIGHT give them a shot if they end up on the virtual console.

Alright! I loved Snake Rattle N' Roll, and Q*Bert, so I might be able to try it.
...HA, I was just about to tell you about the isometric Batman game by Ocean for the MSX, buuut I just noticed your YouTube comment from 5 months ago!
