It's a game where you play the role of yourself, and this plays when you look at and choose the overworld (i.e. racetrack) to play in.

Well, here's some YuzoKoshirulance actually relevant to this thread -
Also I'm very very fond of VMP's world map theme, probably my second favourite tune from the game, after Along A New Path AKA And Down A New Road. The Pure Ones is just so lovely, although my favourite version is actually the MIDI version! The sax!

You know, I've picked the game up once, twice, three times, and didn't like it. I must be insane; CLEARLY I am, because I'm tempted to give it another shot. It's too bad you're limited to overworld themes here, because that doesn't even come close to my favorite SoM track -- and yes I have one.

Wow, that is *horrifyingly bad*. It's like they just let a freakin cat loose on a synth keyboard. My favorite themes: - Fear of the Heavens - I Will Never Forget You - A Wish - The Color of the Summer Sky - Spirit of the Night - What the Forest Taught Me - I Closed My Eyes - Fond Memories Meh... dis/honorable mentions?: - Danger (but just the last 45 seconds of the song -- otherwise, they let another cat loose) - Secret of the Arid Sands (the synth instruments are god-awful -- the tin can effect ruins this song for me) - Prophecy (I've never made it far enough to hear it in-game, in context) - Steel and Snare (I've never made it far enough to hear it in-game, in context) - A Curious Tale (the synth, particularly with the loud, high-pitched notes, ruins an otherwise enjoyable piece) // To choose just one... hmmm... Fear of the Heavens.

That track almost made it to my list, but I really can't handle more than about 18 seconds. It seems to go downhill after that.
As I was saying though, most of these tracks would be so much better with different synth/instruments. Possibly orchestra versions or OCR would do the trick. I just can't handle the 'tinny' sound and the high-pitched squeaking.
One of the biggest examples of all I dislike is the Dwarf village.

Clearly, it must be this one: Eew. Much better: In fact, the entire SD3 OSV is better. (Almost typed vetter. ^^;;;)

Since we were talking about Secret of Mana anyway... XD Welp, I'm still sticking with an earlier claim that vocaloid makes almost anything worse. I also would never compare SoM's OST to SD3's. I like both of them for different reasons. SoM has quality music cause it was originally planned for a CD system, but then SD3's had to live up to the quality of the first game and did so. SoM has more memorable songs to me than SD3, although as a whole the soundtrack is quality

Hmm, Zwei's main theme deserves to be UP THERE, I think - judging by the amount of times it's constantly running through my mind. But I digress - On with the list!

Overworld themes? Obligatory Terranigma post incoming:
The other overworld theme (which, ironically, is called Underworld) is good too, but I don't wanna steal too much of Wyrd's thunder here.

So it's probably gonna be an obscure Japan-only game? Hell, I've only heard of a few popular Japan-only games so an overworld theme from an obscure one completely beats me.
Either that, or it's an overworld theme that only just technically fits your rules - and we wouldn't otherwise guess it - Why else would you be sooo confident about its anonymity?!

Steal, steal! There's plenty of thunder to go around, and Terranigma DOES have some really nice music. (: -Tom Well, I just recalled that I already posted Underworld in a different OST thread, however it would be bad form to decline your offer to steal. :)

No guesses? How disappointing. Well, #19 has been unveiled! It is... Lindacube! And I found SUCH a perfect wallpaper to use as the video backdrop - I mean, how nightmare-inducing is this, seriously?! As mentioned in the annotations (which are hard to read in the little miniature version of the video), there are actually two different versions of the track in this video. The version included on the supposed OST sounds a lot better, with FAR superior instrumentation... but having played the PS1 version of the game, I noticed that it sounded A LOT DIFFERENT in-game. So unless the Saturn version has an improved soundtrack (and all indications are that it does not!), the OST version of the overworld theme is more like an arrangement. So I included a PS1 game-rip to start with, then the OST version of the same song starting at 3:09. -Tom Ye know... I NEVER would have guessed such a game even existed! I mean.... I actually was oddly very familiar with the artwork, to the point that I've wanted the artbook that features this for quite a while (cannabis works!) but..... ! What was this game exactly? You made me curious enough with this track to go off and search for some info, anything at all, about it. But either this game is SO obscure, or I'm so bad at searching, (probably it's the latter ) that I can't find anything at all? :'D (Aside from whatever I'm reading from your annotations that is~)
