Wyrdy you really should be a PSP salesman. You spend so much time convincing people how awesome it is you may as well get paid for it

Dunno, I agree with Wyrd. xD But if musa says he's already tried it a few times, then I guess it can't be helped. =s

Maybe musa's hate for the PSP is like wyrdwad's hate for the DS? :'D But... You see, I always go by "saving the best for last" and I believe the PC 'port' will be awesome regardless of what others may say. Why am I getting this feeling that this shall be true? Why am I getting this feeling that one shall get an artbook or something equally as amazing with the PC release? I want... an artbook. Like how Origin got one.................. (Falcom is bound to have something amazing up it's sleeve if it wants people to buy the same game on another system, even after it's release.... no? )

Ah Wyrdy, you do understand Well I did try the DS a couple of times as well. It was fun poking at the screen with the stylus... but yeah didn't catch my interest for 5 minutes. If I had to rate, I'd prefer the PSP a wee bit more tolerable than the DS. At least I prefer the PSP screen since it's sorta bigger...

I still don't know if I want to preorder the PSP release and be able to play the game at the same time as you all, or if I want to hold out for the PC release... since that's the version I want more. PLAY IT NOW... or play it on the platform I prefer... much later? Ergh. >_< You see, I always go by "saving the best for last" and I believe the PC 'port' will be awesome regardless of what others may say. So do what I'm going to do. Once the PSP version comes out, I'll stop coming here or at least avoid the Ys Seven thread like a plague. I'll keep myself updated from the Falcom mailing list until they announce the PC version. Then I'll come out from hiding and cry tears of relief and happiness. I'm sure that'll make my gaming experience a lot more meaningful. I'll probably sulk in anguish and regret when others are enjoying it on the PSP first... but that's a small price to pay I suppose =P Ahhhh, I don't want to stop coming here. D: I'm actually toying with the idea of buying the PSP version AND the PC version, and pawning the PSP one off when the PC version is released... just a thought. Still have til September to decide, I'm willing to bet I'll cave, though. PC preferred, but I'm not a purist. >_<

Well, the thing is, with the fact that they're calling them Ys Seven and Ys VII distinctly, I don't know what to think on this. I'm not even going to make decisions until I see what the other is. We don't even know for /absolute sure/ that it's PC. Or even if it's /just/ PC. It's just 'multiplatform.' I think personally it's a little early to jump the gun and say 'Oh, I'll wait until it's out on PC.' Yes, and there's that too. If Falcom decides to drop out of PC. Then I'll be packing my bags and say my goodbyes to u good folks here. I'm trying really hard to be optimistic here. And I will never buy consoles, hand held or not. Not everyone is that fortunate to own multiple gaming platforms you know.

Yes, so since I've paid 4 times more for my PC already, do you think I got change to buy a console? Most of you grew up with consoles, I grew up with PCs. It's pretty hard to switch sides now. And I don't see why I should buy a PSP now, used or not, just to play one or 2 games. And money's not the main problem here. Time is. I have no time for additional console gaming. It doesn't help that I'm an underpaid, overworked engineer.

Both sides are never going to see eye to eye on this one, because it depends mostly on your lifestyle. As I've said plenty of times already, I hate this move towards the PSP.
Yes, if you spend most of your time on the go, running around, you're going to love it. I don't, though. I spend all my gaming time in a comfy chair in front of a PC and HDTV. So having to ignore both of those and play using an uncomfortable little handheld on a tiny screen (or small box on the TV if using the PSP) is frustrating in the extreme, and it's even worse if the game was always on PC or consoles before. I'm a lot more forgiving of playing, say, Pokemon on the DS because that's all the series has ever known, but for someone who got into the Ys series around Ys 6, this is one hell of a drop.
If the series moved to home consoles, like both Dawn of Ys and Ys V were, I would not mind. It's handhelds that I have so much issue with. Every time a series I like releases a game I want on the PSP or DS (which is happening increasingly often lately) a little part of me dies. I'll buy the PSP version, I'll play it, but my enthusiasm for anything other than the soundtrack is pretty much zero. I'm looking forward to the 17th September more for the PS3 version of Vesperia, a game I've played twice already on the 360, than Ys 7.

Well, anyway, she means no offense, musa. xD She's only trying to give reason as to why the PSP release coming first is not as bad as it sounds like you feel. Also, really, Falcom wouldn't have said "Calm down guys! It's just going to be released for the PSP first!" if they didn't intend to release the game for PC, after all the fans' rage about it not coming for PC. (People were complaining it was not going to be made for PC, and NOT for it being made for the PSP. There's a BIG difference.) By logic, it is extremely highly expected. Besides, even if there wasn't that fan rage about it not coming for PC and Falcom eventually announced it would be multiplatform, chances would still favor a PC release. If not, then what? A DS? Or Wii/PS3/X360? Chill down. Go play some PC stuff. xD EDIT: Oh, Varion posted first. xD 'Sup.

Nah I'm cool with omgfloofy's views. I'm just ranting Anyway Varion has pretty much the same idea as me. Except he's a lot more tolerant and did buy stuff to play on consoles. Oh well, I'll go back to crossing my fingers for the words "Multiplatform" to turn into "PC".

While I realize that the point of a portable system is for people on the go, I wonder if I'm the only person that plays the PSP or DS in a comfy chair, at home, in front of the PC? :P
Seriously, I play and instant chat at the same time. (The Captain should know this since I was going on about Order of Ecclesia and Hatsworth stuff pretty much while I was playing them.) Or I play the handheld in bed. The only times I've ever brought them with me is when I travelled to the US or out for an anime convention.
So, in a way, I'm sort of miffed how stubborn some folks are about using them. But hey, if you're against things with small screens and all ... DDDDD: And to me, the things only get uncomfortable if you're playing for hours on end. Thing is, if I'm using a mouse or a gamepad for a computer game for hours on end, my wrists and maybe even hands would start to hurt too. :B
Blargh. I like PC games, I like console games, and I like handheld games. Am I in the minority? D:

I luv me handhelds, consoles und PC gamez 2
Though I definitely never, ever play them in front of a PC. In a chair or comfy sofa, it may even be, but never in front of the computer.
Games are games, no matter what. Geez. =p On that regard, I agree with nunuu! (Also, I lol'd hard at adoru's post XD)

I find that I relate best with wyrdwad and nunuu, although like and unlike wyrdwad in some ways, I'd still find a way to play handheld games on the TV.

Oh, no doubt. Whenever that's an option, that's what I do, without question. -Tom True, but the difference between you and I is, I do it (hook it up to a TV through my laptop) with a hacked PSP-1000 and an S-Video to Con... Con... I'm so tired, I don't even remember what it's called... D: Either way, I'm not convinced that my PSP needs to lose any weight just yet. Oh well, off to watch Coraline!

nunuu: You're not in the minority... I like PC, console, and handheld games too! Though up until a few years ago, I *only* liked console games, and would only stomach handheld games on the GBA because of Metroid - and even then, I actually played them on my GameCube, via Game Boy Player. (: But ever since I became a Falcom fan, I've begun to enjoy gaming on the PC... and ever since I got my PSP, I've begun to enjoy handheld gaming. So now, I like all three. (: People should learn from wyrdwad! If he could do it, you can too!
