I've got a copy of Beowulf sitting around here somewheres, I think. Interesting series of stories, what it is. Especially when you start picking out the things that the monks recopying it added in.
Also have the Saga of the Volsungs, which I recommend if you like Norse stuffs.

I usually only read fantasy novels. Just read the last book of Terry Goodkind's Wizard series.
Still waiting for George RR Martin's next volume in his Song of Ice and Fire series.
Stopped reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series at the tenth book, and now that he's dead (may he r.i.p.) without finishing it, I doubt I'll ever have the heart to pick up from where I left off...
Recently finished Stephen Donaldson's Thomas Covenant first chronicles... thinking of buying the 2nd chronicles off the net... some day.
Still waiting for Terry Pratchet's lastest discworld novel.
Now I'm in the midst of reading Joseph Heller's Catch 22.. though I'm kinda distracted by Douglas Adam's Dirk Gently novel...
Meh, so many things to do, so little time to do them...

I can feel you on fantasy novels. Grew up on them, meself. I used to love the Wheel of Time, but I kinda fell off of it after awhile. Didn't know that Jordan had died, though. That's terribly sad.
I've heard good and bad things about the Covenant novels; may read them one of these days. Terry Pratchett is a freaking genius.
Goodkind, though, I've never heard anything good about him. From what I've read, he actually doesn't like the Fantasy genre at all, he just uses it as a front for promoting Objectivism.
Catch-22 is the bee's knees. I had to write a ten page book report on it in high school, and loved it so much I went on for 17 pages. The teacher wrote "I give up" on page 15, and gave me a near perfect score. =]
Dirk Gently is also very worthy; dunno if I like the first or second one better.

How odd.... I'd been reading just last year how Robert Jordan was ill. I never realized he did pass away! (Wow... from from I'm reading up on wikipedia now, apparently he died just two months after I read up upon the illness. ) This is pretty sad devastating. I LOVED his Wheel of Time books. (Like you, musa, I read up to book 10. Then it took so long for book 11 to reach here that... I kind of just forgot half the story. :'D So to read on, I'll have to go back to the beginning now. XD [which I don't feel very motivated about, since... there's a load of other stuff to read])Hrm... I'm actually feeling pretty sad now. All my favourite writers are falling ill/dying. I love reading old classics so the last few books I've read were Beowulf, The Dhammapada and Bhagavadgita. I'm currently half way through Journey to the West and I keep dipping into something a little more modern - Doctor Who: The Writer's Tale, which is a deeply awesome book. And you just reminded me how I need to buy the Bhagvadgita and Ramayana. Somehow I always run out of money by the time I reach the section with these books. XD I've been wanting to read Journey to the West so badly now, for so long, but can't seem to find a copy anywhere! By the way, does anybody else find it incredibly hard to get one's hands on fantasy books? I have to go and beg and harass the old book shop guy with a list every week and even then they're still a great trial to track down.

Well if you need some sending over let me know and I'm sure I can arrange something for you I might just harass you for the latest Terry Pratchett book if I don't get my hands on it at all! Thank you so much for the offer! In return, if you ever can't manage to find any particular Indian/Pakistani/Persian/etc. epic, let me know and I could always look around for those for you here. :'D Those, atleast, are not so hard to get! (god knows what the bookstores have against the old Chinese books though! X( ) Ehem... and yes wyrdwad! I'd still love to have my hands on that book, if it won't be any trouble to you. But only, only if its not a bother! We can swim in them around here in Canada too! Come join us in the Discworld swim party! Why did Canada have to be on the other side of the world?! T___T

If it makes you feel any better, Yakra, Neohio bookstores tend to only have one floor. And the one I've seen that has two also has a lot of wasted space, so it might as well only be one.
But our saving grace is the library system, which has served me well for a long time.

What is Neohio?
I never heard of it...
I like books. They have a lot of big stores here and two used stores in WALKING DISTANCE
Sadly, they bought a lot of Webkinz, and it kind of sucks because I don't think they're selling well... I really feel sorry for them...

Technically I already 'have' the game, but since I've been planning to get an original copy of it anyways... :'D
But wait, book and game together will cost 40$ or is it 40$ for each?! If its 40 with both combined, that's cheap! I'm sure I saw Brave Story (the game) for 40 at Play-Asia! And if so, I most definitely SHALL take you up on that offer! :'D
Could I bother you about these by january? I should hopefully have money by then so even if shipping goes up to 50+, I'll be able to manage! :'D
And Neohio reminds me of Islamabad. All bookshops here are maximum 2 floors high, and there are basically only two amazing ones in the entire city. I was surviving off the library system too, until certain fools decided to crash planes into certain buildings in the US, causing the British Council to shut down and poof went the book supply! ...There's this nice old book shop now which gets me all the books I need. But he sometimes takes years (literally!) to locate some books!

Wait, is that a joke? That sounds SO racist stereotype, that is hilarious. Sorry if this makes me racist I didn't mean to... WAH. But it still is a funny name, if only because it sounds like something people would make up! Libraries are your friend, that is for sure. I got Les Miserables from the library system and I love it! Y'know, people still blame whole countries for that!? It is retarded. Of course, I don't need to tell you that. I just find it pretty dumb that you can single out a whole country (or two, or three) and say that they were all in something like THAT together. WAH~ Wyrdy! I want you to send ME something! I'll love you foreber and eber and eber!

But it still is a funny name, if only because it sounds like something people would make up! Is it really that weird? :'D I've actually found it more boring and blah as compared to most of the names of older cities/civilizations from around the world? Perhaps its so boring sounding simply because its relatively a very new city and people's naming senses across the world are going down the drain. (Its funny that you mentioned that, since some of the old true locals of the area complain that its a very ironic name for a city made over a graveyard. X'D) But anyways, looking back at history, most cities do seem to be named based on their surroundings/cultural influences (like Punjab (Five waters), 'City of Gardens' Lahore (named after Fort Loh, which was the fort of Lava, son of god Rama), 'Port city' Kolachi (a baloch tribe's title)', and Indus/Sindh (old Indus civilazation name for indigo dye 'Ind=Hind=Hindu [and so, the other part: India=Hindustan'.]) Names have very fun and fascinating histories, ne?Is this the first time you've heard of Islamabad? Its the capital city. A very boring one.

It actually is the first time! I probably know some people from there though, Middle Easterners are very, very common where I come from. It was actually funny, my school was known for having a lot of black gangsta guys, but now it is Middle Eastern Gangstas. Which is like, super normal. Which is odd... because gangstas are usually assholes, and I always thought of those races as really nice people. Oh well. I mean, I'm not saying that the races aren't nice, I'm saying gangstas aren't nice, and that people of any race who is a gangsta isn't nice. Well not always. Sometimes they are. Blah, public school made it really hard to talk about cultures without fearing offending someone!
Probably though, most of them hate me, because I drew a dood, and he shared a certain someone's name and it was all "blah blah I'll fucking kill you!" and I'm like "Wait, no I didn't even draw him, it was just a guy with the name!" and then it was "yeah right!?" and then I was "I swear! Hell even if I did I didn't even know! If I offended you sorry. I learned my lesson I won't do it again!" Blah. Bad times. I hate when people jump to conclusions. They hate me for other reasons too, but that is probably because a lot of people hate me, and they're like a clique together.
I'm not sounding offensive or anything, right?

No you aren't at all! There are asses in every society/culture. And then they pretty much ruin the impression of their people for everyone around the world. And by the way, draw whatever you feel like, whenever you want! DON'T listen to others! X( There will always be a jerk who'll come up and whine. Ignore them. (Haa... People still do that to me! ...In a more politer way ofcourse.)
