Normally, if I saw a comment like that, I'd ignore it or heckle it at my LiveJournal.

However, if you were absolutely forced to reply to/confront such assholery, what would you say? :/

Er...more seriously, I don't really know what I'd say. I generally make a point of not responding to such flagrantly prejudiced comments. I've learned through experience that you're rarely going to change a person's mind about something like that. At best you make them blow up and get a few giggles at their expense, and at worst you come away feeling pretty crappy and questioning your faith in humanity. Usually some combination of the two. ^_^

Admittedly I've never really been pushed into any situation where I absolutely had to respond, though. No one I really care about and respect in my day to day life has ever come out with something like that, and on the internet it's as simple as clicking the little 'X' in the corner, so I usually just take the easy way out. :x

I would... most probably ignore? :'D More than anything, probably because such aggravating statements lead to one getting involved in long, long, loooong discussions in which one usually ends up arguing with the person, trying to convince them otherwise, aaaaaand.... if someone makes a statement like this in some place that I usually frequent, just the very dread of going back, opening up the page, reading the new reply and writing one's own answer is horrendous. DDD: And then I don't want to go to that site anymore.

I hate arguing. (I'm lazy.)

Also because I'm not a person of witty answers. (I would probably just say something very stuffily like 'not very nice and decent of ye~! *huff huff*'.)

And so, if someone actually said that to my face, I'd probably say the very same thing, only in an even more huffy tone... X'D

Your best bet is to reply with a post that is so grotesquely immature and offensive that it makes his comment seem like an ancient philosophical writing. For example.

The offender, let's just say his username is "Jerk", posts the following:

Now, the enemy has made his first move. Don't be intimidated, you can handle this. Let's handle it step by step.

Step 1.) Scroll to his post and hit the "quote" button.

Step 2.) Now, with his quoted text in front of you, delete the contents of his post while leaving the actual quotation information in place.

Step 3.) Replace his original text with someone incredibly crass and immature. In this case, let's say "mmmm butthole is all sorts of tasty does any1 else liek to eat poop too??"

Step 4.) Formulate your own reply. It should be something simple and dismissive, yet deprecating. For example, "ugh you sick fuck i dont wanna hear that shit". Submit the post.

Your end result should look something like this:

I would reply with a simple "You are a fucking retard" and just answer all replies with such dismissals. The goal being to see how many paragraphs they'll churn out trying to justify themselves.

You know, it's actually kind of funny how a simple racist comment like that can produce like 15,000 comments. I bet that thing is still going on too. Sad thing is that the person that made the initial dumbass remark is probably having a grand old time laughing at everyone taking offense. >_>

I agree with Cap'n. It's really not worth it to try to deal with idiots like that using logic, considering it's a language they cannot understand, and to which they respond with the eloquence of a third-grader who spends his nights watching South Park.

Just try to come up with a really scathing one-liner and get it over with.

I should clarify.

Sometimes it's worth it if they really seem like they're ignorant. Like with lindaluv; she at first just seemed to be kinda dumb; as opposed to the intellectually dishonest little ball of retard she actually was, so you can kinda try to do something to uncloud their eyes.

But when people get that bad, all you can really do is make a show of them and hope that the humiliation flips a switch in their headparts. So yeah, escalate away. Failing that, it at least helps expose how dumb they are to others in hopes that it will do something to help them avoid such foolishness on their own.
