I installed the game, but it doesn't seem to work. When I click on it, the little long eared girl says:
I have vista, and I applied the latest patch to it, and then the english patch for 1.305. What did I do wrong?
Did I apply the wrong patch?
?_?

Ugh, I could just say "go read the threads", but people in ALoY aren't like that, so...
I believe you have to manually create a folder. Or something. Did you read the readme file that comes with the patch? The author of both the patch and readme recommend you do. I think he explains what you got to do.
Anyway, I believe the threads in this section hold the answer somewhere, as well.

It does say this about Vista users: And... I'm pretty sure that they're there.

Hm. The worst part is that I futurely shall have the same issues, as I'll have a new PC with Vista pre-installed. ;_; A machine that doesn't run well under XP as well, from what I read around. Well, anyway, I'm sorry, I can't help you. Unfortunately, all I can say is to try your luck with the threads around here, as several Vista users have problems installing this and many other Falcom games, and many of them managed to solve it with the help of the ALoY regulars and even the very patch creator. Or someone might come here and point out what to do. Eitherway, good luck, and if you manage to solve it eventually, let us know about it, so that it can be of help to more people in the future. ... Oh, I almost forgot, I have some basic suggestions. If I was you, I think I would try reinstalling the game. Then try running the game without the patch applied. (Naturally, I would also try running the game under japanese settings.) If there's a problem there... then it's not the patch. If there isn't... then just proceed. And if the same problem persists in the end, ... then gotta search around here a bit.

Don't worry guys..It's a Vist realted trouble. Unfortuntaley on Vista OS the regkey where the installapath is stored is different from the XP one. SO, when I created the first version of the ennglish patch I didn't notice it. This trouble was experinced by manuy users. I'll try to release a fixed version next days, then you'll troubles will be solved. Sorry for this inconvenience..just have a little of patience. Bye
