Hi Everyone,
Just managed to finally get an opportunity to start playing the first Legend of Heroes game for Turbo Duo in English and it started raising some questions that I wanted to ask you all about regarding the series as a whole.
The first game aside from using different names for the characters and places and having terrible voice acting. However, at least it is in English and from my knowledge is one of only two versions I know of that are in English, the other one being the fan-translated MSX version, of which I've never gotten to work correctly.
What I was wondering about was whether or not the second LOH ever had an English translation in any form, be it a translation patch or via a website script?
The other question was that I was wondering if world that is presented by the first two LOH games connects to the world presented in the Gagharv Trilogy, and whether or not Gagharv connects to the world in Sora no Kiseki and ED7.
Is it all one world taking place on different continents and different time periods similar to how the Genso Suikoden games work?
Maybe these are all stupid questions, but having never finished a Legend of Heroes game... yet, I've always wanted to know what I was getting into by playing the first game of the series first before playing the others.
Thanks,
-Thomas

Ah is that so? Thanks then for explaining. I had thought that at least Gagharv had taken place in the same world as Sora no Kiseki and ED7, but I guess I doesn't. Hmm... Interesting.

Here's a little more on LoH I & II. LoH II stars Atlas, who is the son of Selios (Logan) from LoH I. Selios also appears in LoH II. Surprisingly, the two games begin remarkably similar to one another, in the same location even. I haven't played much of LoH II due to my lack of Japanese, but I have the official guide for the PC Engine version. I'm hoping it will help me finish it one day.

OMG!! FLOOFY, CAN? : )
And that's interesting Gamemusicfreak. I just assumed that the main character of LOH II was Selios (Logan) again. Man, I hate the English names... In some ways they are much worse than the simple change of Galaban to Demonicus... Why, oh why did they think it would be a good idea to rename all the characters that originally had fantasy-sounding names to more common English names. It is beyond me. It's like saying, "I don't know about this.... A..DOLL, character, let's change his name to... I don't know, Bill the Red Headed Swordsman from Esteri..a.... Easter Island."
But I'll finish it. I'd at least like to know the gist of what happens in the story. : )

I never even realised that Logan wasn't his name all this time, wierd. LOH1 is one of my favorite games(& my wife's too!). I've talked to a few people that do translating & programming n stuff. There is interest in doing LOH2 but nothing any time soon so far. I think there's more interest in the LOX games. The dude who's working on translating Tengai Makyou Ziria for the Turbo CD(not the 360 version) is going to try to make some type of app or something, that will help others to rip games apart for translation.

Dogi was called Colin also in the SMS version? I thought it was only in the TurboGrafx-16 CD version. I think so. I could be wrong, though.

Cool! So they may be connected after all, or at least Gagharv and Zemulia. Though I do wonder if Legend of Heroes I & II are at all connected still. I do have the maps from the Japanese PC-Engine LOH I & II games if you would be interested in taking a look at them, if you haven't already seen them that is. Maybe there's a location name that rings a bell from something mentioned in either the Gagharv trilogy or Sora no Kiseki Chapters.
Thanks for answering my question about this OMGFloofy!

AFAIK, the first 2 LOH's take place on the planet Isrenasa, though, I forget what it was called in the Japanese version. As cool as it would be to have them take place in the same world as the others, I just don't see any way that they do. They seem to indicate that the world of the first 2 games, is the entire world.
However, I suppose it's possible that the lands of the other games could be smaller parts of that world, either in the future or the past. Storywise, it doesn't seem like it would jive with LOH's 1 & 2.

Thanks for explaining. I had hoped that perhaps they were connected, but if they went ahead and named the planet in those games, either in English or Japanese, it is likely that the world of LoH I & II is stand alone. That's a shame, but it shouldn't stop me from finishing the first two eventually. : )
