Since I didn't find any threads about this, here's to advertise something I came across at Rom Hacking Dot Net. It's a nice little patch that lets us play Ys Master System (Y's 
) with the FM synth version of the soundtrack that existed in the Japanese version but was suppressed in the European / American versions. Also, it changes ARON to Adol, DEKT to Fact, etc. Here's a link:

The Master System version was the first Ys I ever played, and I never knew there was an alternate soundtrack. It's pretty cool to stumble upon a new arrangement for it just like that.
